Red 2: Review

Retired C.I.A agent Frank Moses is back, along with his team of RED (Retired and Extremely Dangerous) friends Marvin (John Malkovich), Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker) and Victoria (Helen Mirren). This time they are drawn in to a search to find a missing portable nuclear device, created by a brilliant physicist, Bailey (Anthony Hopkins).

As you can expect, the performances from the stellar cast do not disappoint, and one gets the sense that the characters enjoy each of the many scenes of destruction; all except Frank, who is looking to settle down with Sarah, keep her safe, and avoid the life of international spy.

The action will thrill audiences, the tongue-in-cheek humour will most certainly bring many laughs, and the story will entertain. There are enough twists in the story to keep the audience guessing, and plenty of stunning sights to see as the team tours the big cities on its mission to save the world.

Red 2 infiltrates South African cinemas 20 September 2013.
