The Smurfs 2: Review

Smurfs 2Those little blue people are at it again. The Smurfs return with a new adventure, this time to rescue Smurfette from the wizard Gargamel before he can learn the secret that will turn his latest creations, the Naughties, into real Smurfs, allowing him to extract their essence for his own evil purposes.

The Smurfs 2 takes you not only on an adventurous ride, but tells a tale of loyalty and family, showing that the good in a person will triumph over the evil inside, and if you stick together as family, you can overcome any obstacle.

Although the film has its exaggerated ‘younger moments’, this is a story to see with family and friends. The Smurfs 2 will keep you smiling from beginning to end.

The voice talent is perfectly cast, with the likes of Katy Perry, Christina Ricci, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin, John Oliver, Jeff Foxworthy, Aloan Cumming, Adam Wylie, Shaquille O’Neal and Jimmy Kimmel, to name a few. The animation, mixed in with the real world is superb, and the characters of the Smurfs come alive in a way that will thrill the younger audience, and entertain the older.

The Smurfs 2 starts 20 September 2013 in South Africa.
