Hillary Clinton And Colin Powell To Host ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’ Screening

Hillary Clinton and General Colin Powell, together with Senator John McCain, will host a special screening of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom at The John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, 20 November.  Producer  Anant Singh will attend the event.

The screening, true to Madiba’s ideals, sees the breaking down of barriers between two political parties, with senior leaders sharing the same platform – both Clinton and Powell are former Secretaries of State, each representing the Democratic and Republican parties respectively.

Anant Singh commented, “I was with Colin Powell when he watched the film at a previous screening.  He enjoyed the film tremendously and said that he was impressed at how effectively the film captured Madiba’s journey.  We are honoured that  Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell and Senator John McCain are hosting this screening which will also serve to create dialogue between their respective political parties, especially as it follows Madiba’s own policy of dialogue between different political parties.”
