Last Vegas (DVD): Review

The Film

Last Vegas, with Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline. The list of leading men along should tell you something about this film, directed by Jon Turteltaub. It’s the story of three sixty-something friends who take a break from their day-to-day lives to throw a bachelor party for their last remaining single friend, in Las Vegas. Each of these old-timer has their own unique, sometimes cynical, view of the world, leading to some hilarious moments between these movie greats.

At the core of the film, is a great heart warming story of friendship and loyalty, told through the adventures in Vegas that lead to a large helping of humour.

Last Vegas is a fun look at what good friends should do for each other. Not aimed at the younger crowd, the film touches on a hint of romance in-between the fun story in the city of sin.

A fun, enjoyable story, that will keep everyone entertained.

The Disc

The disc is encoded at a high bitrate, and can therefore be scaled up to view on an HD screen. Sound makes use of the surround system, but the nature of the film doesn’t lend itself to a great deal of this. There are no bonus features on the disc.

Last Vegas is available now, to purchase, in South Africa.
