Brand New Seasons Of Modern Family And The Big Bang Theory

Brand new seasons of Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory!
5 Days to go!

It’s that kind of Magic! Brand new seasons of two of the best sitcoms can be seen on M-Net channel 101 from next week Wednesday, 2 November. The cast of Modern Family Season 8 return for another round of family fun at 19:30, whilst brilliant physicists Leonard and Sheldon (and their exasperated significant others) are back with the much awaited season 10 of The Big Bang Theory at 20:00.

The Dunphy-Pritchett-Tucker clan of Modern Family find themselves scattered all over the place in the season premiere, when the summer vacation takes Phil, Claire and the kids to New York; Jay, Gloria and their kids to Mexico, and Cam and Mitch find themselves all the way out in Missouri with Lily. Luckily Father’s Day proves to be the perfect opportunity to bring this family together-along with all their hilarious drama.

Later in the season, we’ll find that Claire struggles to be the head honcho at Pritchett’s Closets, especially with Jay back in the fold. At home, Phil stars enjoying more hobbies, while Gloria’s hot sauce business starts picking up steam, and Mitch and Cam will continue to see a parade of interesting guests frequent their upstairs rental unit. There’s also plenty of Modern Family style bonding-one misunderstanding at a time-to keep the comedy going.

Modern Family stars Ed O’Neill as Jay Pritchett, Julie Bowen as Claire Dunphy, Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy, Sofia Vergara as Gloria Pritchett, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell Pritchett, Eric Stonestreet as Cameron Tucker, Sarah Hyland as Haley Dunphy, Nolan Gould as Luke Dunphy, Ariel Winter as Alex Dunphy, Rico Rodriguez as Manny Delgado, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons as Lily Tucker-Pritchett and Jeremy Maguire as Joe Pritchett.

Everyone’s favourite scientists prepare for another Emmy Award-winning season of The Big Bang Theory, and our group of socially awkward nerds and their respective partners have a lot of growing up to do; in the tenth season premiere, Leonard and Penny’s wedding ceremony brings forth some unexpected family drama- and family comedy-for everyone involved.

As always, some of the best laughs come from Dr Cooper himself, and here’s a few gems from our list of favourite Sheldon Cooper-isms:

1. Bus pants: as Sheldon explains, “pants one wears over one’s regular pants when one sits on bus seats that other people have previously sat on”. Obviously.

2. The Roommate Agreement: Leonard and Sheldon thought of everything from where to order takeaways to what to do in the event of a zombie apocalypse, and documented the rules that govern their friendship and living situation. It’s seen them avoid many potentially tense moments.

3. Bazinga! Pranking a mate? Throwing around a little playful banter? Beating someone at their own game? There’s only one thing to say: Bazinga!

And the crowd favourite:

4. “I’m not crazy. My mother had me tested.”

The Big Bang Theory stars Johnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter, Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz, Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrappali, Mayim Bialik as Amy Farah Fowler and Melissa Rauch as Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz.
