AFDA, South Africa’s only Oscar winning film, television and performance school, is proud to host their annual GRADUATION FESTIVAL produced by Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban 3rd year under graduate and 4th year post graduate students.
This year the festival, will proudly showcase a record 91 productions from the respective AFDA campuses, including 60 live action short films, 11 pilot television shows, 11 live music performance shows and 9 theatre productions.
“The annual AFDA festival is a perfect opportunity not only to showcase the school as an institution, but is an ideal moment in a student’s career path to show their work to the industry. It is a vital moment for the students as it is their final year end exam where they are assessed by the public. This moment is a culmination of talent enjoyed by all and the time we all look forward to annually.” says Franco Human, AFDA Durban Dean.
All the productions are assessed by industry professionals, AFDA learning staff members and most importantly the public. The graduation production constitutes 50% of the complete students assessment for the year.
“This is a critical aspect of the AFDA learning system which encourages students to create market related and culturally relevant entertainment content.” says AFDA Co-Founder and CEO Bata Passchier.
This year also sees the BIT (The AFDA Business, Innovation and Technology School) students showcase their high-tech innovative projects at the festival.
If you want to see the best up and coming future talent in the South African entertainment industry, the AFDA Graduation Festival 2016 is for you.
