After a successful run of shows in Namibia, Tim Plewman’s Defending the Caveman will spend the festive season tickling the funny bones of the City of Gold.
The comedy classic will entertain egolians at Montecasino and The Victory Theatre through December.
Plewman, who has just returned back from Namibia, says his shows for our Western neighbours were well received. “Taking Defending the Caveman to Namibia was great fun; the turn out and enthusiasm was fantastic. The audience whistled and cheered at the curtain – even though 80% of the people there were listening in their second language.”
Considered one of South Africa’s best solo comedies, Defending the Caveman explores the complexities of romance and relationships with truthful hilarity. Through his Caveman, Plewman ensures his audience spend the show in stitches but walk away with something to think about.
“It has now become something of a tradition to have Defending the Caveman on in Johannesburg over the Christmas season,” says Plewman, “and there could be no better message to give at this time of year; peace, goodwill and understanding between couples!”
As the country’s longest-running and most successful solo comedy, this tongue-and-cheek gem will form part of Parker’s Comedy and Jive at Monte Casino, with Sunday matinee shows during November and December, and then at the Victory Theatre stage every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings over December.
The December run of Defending the Caveman offers an excellent year-end function option; enjoy a three-course meal and the show at The Victory Theatre to celebrate and say goodbye to 2016. Alternatively, take your friends or family out for a night of delicious food and deep belly laughs.
Defending the Caveman will show at Montecasino as part of Parkers Comedy and Jive every Sunday at 3.30pm until 18 December. It will then go on to run at The Victory Theatre every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 8:00pm until 31 December.
Tickets for both the Montecasino and Victory Theatre shows are available at Computicket. For more information, visit www.timplewman.co.za, www.newvictorytheatre.co.za and www.parkerscomedy.com. Alternatively, connect with Plewman on Facebook and Twitter.
