Scene Study Workshop gives an actor tools to approach a new script or audition sides correctly, before line readings are developed and poor choices are made.
It covers character study, first contact with the script, the rehearsal process, breaking down a scene into beats, objectives, obstacles, relationships, sub text and finally and most importantly sending and receiving dialogue honestly. Actors are paired up with a partner and given a scene to prepare together for class. In class Bonnie will direct the scene and help the actors find different interpretations of the work and challenge the actor to take direction.
