Wedding Bashers: Ballroom Dancing vs Musical Theatre

Ballroom dancing vs musical theatre!
Bashers get their groove on in second batch of weddings

Celebrity Wedding Bashers Cindy Nell, Siba Mtongana, Zavion Kotze and Denise Zimba were on the hunt again tonight for the South African wedding of the year! In episode two of M-Net’s brand new, original local series, the Bashers visited a picturesque Golf Club in Paarl for Secunda-based engineers – and ballroom dancers – Chanelle and Devon’s nuptial celebration, which was inspired by a Kardashian wedding and came with a generous budget of R300 000. They then jetted off for a rustic but chic Barnyard-inspired bash in sunny and serene Muldersdrift for musical theatre performers Lizaan and Jonathan’s special day.

At each wedding that they attend, the four Bashers are tasked to discreetly rate the big day after having joined in the festivities. As the show’s resident fashion expert, Cindy has been tasked to share her thoughts about the wedding gown, garments and accessories while Siba will dish out remarks on the culinary experience. Zavion will evaluate everything  that brings ‘fabulosity’ to the event, or not – from the overall décor to the theme, flower arrangements and visual impact. To impress Denise, there should be proof that the guests had an amazing time, with on-point entertainment of course.

The Bashers had mixed reactions about both weddings, with party girl Denise being less than impressed with the overall entertainment at Chanelle and Devon’s wedding, while Siba’s expectations about the food at Lizaan and Jonathan’s big day weren’t met either. Despite this, serenading entertainers Lizaan and Jonathan out-performed the dirty dancing engineers in each category, with Chanelle and Devon scoring slightly lower ratings in comparison. While The Wedding Bashers may disagree about the finer details concerning the fashion and beauty, food, décor and entertainment, their final overall score for the wedding – which is only revealed at the end of the season – will be vital, however, because the newlyweds at the top of the list will win a wonderful wedding gift from the show: prizes to the value of over R800 000.

On top of the celebrity squad’s feedback, viewers can have their say too by rating the weddings on www.mnet.tv/weddingbashers. Be sure to tune in to see how your opinion will count – and maybe win you some great weekly prizes too, including R100 000 from 1st for women!

Next Sunday on The Wedding Bashers, Cindy, Denise, Zavion and Siba will turn their microscopes to two weddings in Pretoria. What do you get when you cross a tropical thunderstorm with a Gauteng beach wedding, and what happens when an iconic  steam train becomes the main attraction? Tune in next week to find out.

The Wedding Bashers is produced by [sic] Entertainment and will be broadcast on M-Net channel 101 every Sunday night at 17:00. Viewers can also visit www.mnet.tv/weddingbashers to watch exclusive interviews with the Bashers and bridal couples, and follow all the breaking news and conversations around the show on Twitter @MNet / #WeddingBashers or on the official M-Net Facebook page.
