Who will go up against top team Bruce and Claudia in first Kitchen HQ elimination?
Last week on My Kitchen Rules SA, Bruce and Claudia – who were at the top of the leader board in the Instant Restaurant rounds of the series – came last in the People’s Choice Johannesburg Zoo pizza challenge, shocking all of their fellow competitors. Judges David Higgs and J’Something revealed that the martial arts world champion and his master-baker wife would be going into a Sudden Death cook-off, but against whom?
“If there’s one team that you do not want to go up against in this competition, it’s Bruce and Claudia,” Rowan warned the rest of the competitors. This week, the teams return to Kitchen HQ, where they finally get to cook in the gleaming new MKR kitchen for the first time. Bruce and Claudia will be sitting this challenge out, as well as the winners of last week’s pizza challenge who won themselves immunity from this week’s cook, Jamandi and Machiel.
The team with the least impressive dish from the next challenge will immediately have to cook against the highly competitive Bruce and Claudia in a Sudden Death cook-off which will determine who the first eliminated pair from the Kitchen HQ rounds will be. But what is the challenge in question? None other than a “Steak, Sauce and Sides” contest. It may sound simple, especially for teams of meat-loving South Africans, but as always on MKRSA, there’s a twist: a serious time constraint. With limited time on the clock in which to create the perfect steak and accompaniments, some competitors are bound to crumble under the immense time pressure.
Who will have to hang up their aprons at the end of the show, and who will live to cook another day? My Kitchen Rules SA is broadcast on M-Net channel 101 every Sunday night at 18:00.
