M-Net Movies Zone Is Ready To Bring Families Together WIth Fun-filled Film Festivals In HD

This festive season, M-Net Movies is sprucing up M-Net Movies Zone, the channel that is available to film fanatics on DStv Access, Family, Compact, Compact Plus and Premium packages. On Friday 1 December M-Net Movies Zone on DStv channel 139 will go HD! In future, entering the M-Net Movies Zone will also be the ticket to great family fun in the form of exciting movie festivals or mini-festivals built around specific themes, franchises and events.

For example, courtesy of M-Net Movies Zone, Weekends are bound to become prime family bonding time with mom, dad and the entire brood being lured into the enchantment of iconic cinema. Expect the on-screen waters to turn treacherous in December with the ominous fins – and super-sharp teeth – of Jaws. This Saturday night man-versus-beast movie extravaganza kicks off on 3 December at 18:20 with the Steven Spielberg cult classic that scooped the Academy awards in 1975. The sequel, Jaws 2, will follow on Saturday 9 December at 19:00, while Denis Quaid and company will be battling an aquatic killing machine looking for her captured offspring in Jaws 3 on Saturday 16 December at 18:20. Also be prepared for another scary return of the Great White in Jaws: The Revenge on Saturday 23 December at 18:25.

While the young ones have some free time during the holidays, don’t be surprised if your home turns into an M-Net Movies Zone Kids Club. The channel has lined up 5 hours of rib-tickling, side-splitting movies 7 days a week: on weekdays between 10:00 and 15:00 and on weekends between 9:00 and 14:00.

Among these child-friendly films are Paddington, Casper, Hop, Dr. Seuss’ The Cat In The Hat and many more.

“We trust that the rejuvenation of our M-Net Movies Zone schedule will turn the channel into a default destination, especially for our DStv Access customers, but will also provide great entertainment to all movie lovers,” says Jan du Plessis, Director: M-Net Channels. “And there’s more to come… the legendary Rocky is ready to roll with all his films in February!”
