Table Mountain Knife Attacks
Last week yet another hiker was robbed, stabbed and killed in the Table Mountain reserve, while recently a group of 9 hikers were mugged at knifepoint. Regular visitors are up in arms, saying their security and that of tourists should be ensured. Carte Blanche asks: why has very little been done about the safety of visitors at one of Cape Town’s prime tourist attractions?

Ayaan Isaacs has SCID, curable only by bone marrow transplant, but when the search for a donor was only partially successful, his mother Shamaa Sheik turned to an international clinical trial offering ground-breaking gene therapy. Lady Julia Albu’s African Adventure II

Carte Blanche catches up with Lady Julia who relives her remarkable experiences from facing sandstorms in Sudan to spending Christmas in the Nubian desert.
