Every story has heart on Moja Love

While love can certainly make the world go round, it can also make your head spin, as viewers of Moja Love will soon find out! This new channel, brought to you by Siyaya Free-to-Air TV, promises to showcase content that speaks to universal love in the African context.

Moja Love goes live on Wednesday, 14 February 2018 at 17:30 on DStv channel 157 and will be available to DStv Premium, Compact Plus, Compact and Family customers. They can expect to see the universal themes of love through a variety of shows ranging from telenovelas, dramas, sitcoms, reality, actuality to interactive talk shows.

“Moja is a slang word that means ‘everything is good’ and while love is a universal emotion, Moja Love will explore love from the unique perspective of the modern South African woman using honest, reflective, hopeful and humorous storytelling,” says Jacqueline Rainers Setai, Head of Moja TV Channels. “For the first time on our screens, there is a channel dedicated to the multiple dimensions of love; self-love, sisterly love, maternal love, romantic love, and love that drives one’s passions and creates an unbreakable bond in our communities.”

The 24-hour channel will be filled with fresh, brand new shows that are locally produced. Out of the 22 shows that the channel will air from February, 80% are created and produced by Siyaya Media Network specifically for Moja Love. The balance of shows are selected from other African countries and have never aired before on South African screens.

“For us at MultiChoice, it’s important to offer our customers a range of different entertainment options . This channel supports our commitment to investing in the growth of our industry and the promise of more new programming for our customers . We believe Moja Love will provide increased choice for our customers and a home for more local story tellers,” said Yolisa Phahle, CEO for General Entertainment, MultiChoice.
