The interactive late-night reality show, that has been creating a sensational buzz in the UK, is coming to South Africa – 6 days a week! M-Net 101 will be screening Love Island – a gorgeous game of love where a group of singletons must choose their partners wisely – in order to avoid being dumped – both by their potential lovers and from the show.

From Monday 11 June, viewers will be getting a dose of fun and romance Monday to Saturday from 23:00 onwards. The popular series will be bringing in a new generation of good-looking, young and sizzling singles to a luxury villa, where love and drama are definitely not mutually exclusive. In between beach bonfires and intimate dinners some shock eliminations and new arrivals ensure constant unpredictability and rivalry for the Islanders. And once contestants leave the island, the remaining singles must re-couple or risk being sent home. Also thrown into the mix are team challenges, sneaky dates, confession rooms, couple-up time, dramatic text announcements and so much more. In the definitive game of love there’s never a dull moment: especially when the path may be littered with a few loose cannons.

The fourth season of the reality phenomenon is coming to M-Net hot on the heels of its UK premiere, which attracted an audience of 1.5 million viewers between the ages of 16-34. Last season’s audience doubled, with the show trending worldwide on Twitter every night – peaking at over 3 million tweets.

“M-Net is known for being the home of the the best of the best programming, and this show is currently the most-talked about reality series in the UK,” says Head of Publicity Lani Lombard. “Love Island been such a hit that it’s now also being produced in Germany and Australia, and we’re thrilled to bring the hype to South African viewers. Even more impressive is how big the social media appeal of the series is for young adults. It’s very seldom that shows have that kind of impact.”

Sassy 2014 Strictly Come Dancing UK winner Caroline Flack will play host and has already mentioned that this season’s participants are an interesting bunch – welcome news, considering that 11 out of 80,000 applicants were chosen to participate in the hot topic series.

Season four’s sexy singletons are:

  • Laura Anderson, 29, Cabin Crew member from Scotland
  • Dani Dyer, 21, Barmaid from London
  • Hayley Hughes, 21, Model from London
  • Kendall Rae-Knight, 26, Retail Manager from Blackpool
