The Ladies Keep “Falling” For Lee On The Bachelor SA

Group dates, one-on-ones, cocktail parties, rose ceremonies.

Bitchy comments, green-eyed monsters, clashing personalities, gorgeous competition. It’s only episode three, but it all seems way too much to handle for the ladies of South Africa’s Bachelor Mansion. Yes, they are really “falling” for handsome Bachelor Lee!

In last week’s edition of The Bachelor SA, blonde bombshell Chanieel took a dive during the rose ceremony and this week feisty sports coach Thenji raised some eyebrows with a dramatic drop. With stress levels and emotions already running high, the girls immediately questioned “the Thenji situation”. Was she really ill, or just faking it? Confused and annoyed, Jozaan asked if it was an attention-seeking move. Edith also didn’t approve: “Do I need to faint at the next cocktail party? I just feel like it’s becoming a bit redundant”.

But the dizzy spell at the rose ceremony wasn’t the most dramatic part of the evening. Lee had 14 roses to hand out to the beautiful belles he’d like to continue his journey of love with, meaning he had to potentially break three hearts. 29-year-old Financial Accountant Annalene, 24-year-old sports coach Thenji and 30-year-old Sales Executive Kerry, were left empty handed. Feeling hurt and blindsided, Annalene’s last words to Lee were scathing. “Was it all bullshit?” she asked. Thenji also fiercely departed with “bye bitches”, aimed at the ladies.

Clearly, the ladies are becoming more invested in the quest for true love and winning over Lee’s heart.

This week viewers also saw Lee taking city girl and lawyer Edith on an adventurous date with nature to Hartebeespoort where they enjoyed a scenic view along the aerial cableway, followed by strawberry picking and a romantic picnic in the countryside. The two enjoyed an afternoon of laughter and romance and in the end, Edith not only took home a rose but Lee’s cap too – much to the envy of the other girls.

Invited to the group date were Gina, Michelle.D, Kim, America, Nontombi, Chanieel, Michelle.R and Jozaan – leaving Jacqueline very upset and rejected for not being chosen again. “This is not fair,” she cried. The ladies competed in an intense water obstacle challenge, with commentary by host Jason Greer, all in an effort to win alone time with Lee. Kite surfing, water skiing and water polo lover Kim won the challenge hands down! Thereafter Kim and Lee spent the afternoon braai’ing and getting to know each other better – a lot better! The two shared a steamy kiss.
