VIA Reality Show, Ster-Status, Heading To Local Television Screens

This year, VIA viewers can celebrate Women’s Month in style with the launch of Apprentesses SA’s brand new reality program, STER-STATUS, which will be gracing local screens every Monday at 18h00 on channel 147.

According to founding member and executive director of the women’s empowerment project- Apprentesses SA, Tarien Cronjé, the goal of this series is to offer women an opportunity to have a career in the entertainment industry and making viewers part of this exciting journey.

“It was an incredible experience to create this program and be part every girl’s journey. For me, it was a great privilege to watch them grow, transform and reach new heights,” Cronjé says.

This reality competition will focus on preparing young women (millennials) for life in the limelight by introducing them to the entertainment industry through workshops, training sessions and various other challenges. After each phase of the competition, participants who didn’t make the grade will be eliminated. Although there can only be one winner, all participants will benefit from the experience as they will get exposure across various social platforms, learn about styling, build relationships with industry experts, make a difference through charitable work, and have the opportunity to act as brand ambassadors.

Last year’s winner, Luré Delport, will be the first official presenter of STER-STATUS with actor David Konrad (Binnelanders, Getroud met Rugby) as mentor. At the end of the show, she will be handing over the reins to 2019’s winner.

“What makes this series fun and unique is the transformation that the participants and the presenter of the program undergo as the competition progresses. We also follow last year’s winner’s journey as she also makes her official debut as television presenter on the program,” shares Tarien. “There is, however, also an element of unexpected sadness that comes through in the first episode, but those sincere moments of tears, laughter and support between the contestants and presenter are also caught on camera and form an integral part of the show.”

Various celebrities, including Sinki Mlambo, Leandie du Randt, Deon Groot, Francois Olivier, David Konrad, Amorie Pearson and Pamela Niemand, and selected businesses will form part of the show and a number of organisations, like CHOC, Kosmos Care Centre and Gracia will benefit from the charity aspect.

About the opportunity to be part of this great initiative, David Konrad, reveals: “My dream is to help others achieve their dreams and STER-STATUS has given me the platform to do exactly that.”

The reality series will run over six episodes, during which the winner and runners-up will be announced – in true VIP fashion – at a gala event at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria on 10 August 2019.

Tickets for the STER-STATUS FINALE are available on iTickets and range from R160 to R250 per person. Red carpet proceedings will kick off at 18h00 and, aside from the big announcement, the line-up also includes live entertainment by famous artists.

STER-STATUS contains all the right inspirational and competitive ingredients for a reality series that is set to change someone’s life forever. The question is just… who is it going to be? Stay tuned to see what happens!
