ARRI announces the latest addition to its Camera Stabilizer Systems range: the Stabilized Remote Head SRH-360.
Like its predecessor the SRH-3, ARRI’s new SRH-360 is a three-axis, entirely stabilized remote head that allows full-sized cameras weighing up to 30 kg/66 lbs. to go where no other head could venture. Whether on set, in a studio, or at an event, the intelligent and adaptive SRH-3 and SRH-360, together with digital controllers such as the DRW-1, DEH-1, and Master Grips, have the full force of ARRI technology behind them.
The major improvement with the SRH-360 is to the pan axis functionality. A new slip ring permits unlimited rotation of the head on its pan axis, which is a feature that has been requested by many customers. At the same time, the torque of the pan motor has been increased by 50%, allowing it to compensate for powerful centrifugal forces when shooting high-speed camera moves. This makes the SRH-360 even more flexible for dynamic environments such as action, stunts, vehicle work, sports, and live music performances.
Curt Schaller, Product Manager Camera Stabilizer Systems at ARRI, comments, “Unleashing the pan axis by adding a slip ring and a more powerful pan motor gives the cinematographer and camera operator the freedom to create moves and frames that they could not get before.”
SRH-3 owners can upgrade to SRH-360 functionality with the new slip ring pan axis module. Regional ARRI sales offices will be able to provide full details of the upgrade.
Even with the enhanced pan features, the SRH-360 and upgraded SRH-3 are still compact, robust, and lightweight heads. They are capable of handling payloads in excess of three times their own weight, which represents the best weight-to-payload ratio available on the market. They also deliver amazingly stable images, no matter how uneven the terrain or how fast the camera is moving.
LBUS-based control of the head, camera, and lens make the ARRI stabilized remote heads easy to use and suitable for both cine and broadcast applications. Modularity is another stand-out feature of the SRH-360 and SRH-3. They are compatible with ARRI accessories like the DRW-1; DEH-1; Master Grips; OCU-1; cforce motors; all SAM plates; and dedicated RMB, UMA, and ARS brackets. In addition, they can be used with Canon and Fujinon broadcast lenses through ARRI’s LCUBE CUB 2.
The new SRH-360 will begin shipping during Q2 2020 and can be purchased in different sets, with various joystick configurations. Going forward, neither the SRH-3 nor SRH-360 will contain radio modules, but can instead be used with the new external radio modules ERM-2400 (2.4 GHz) and ERM-900 (900 MHz) in order to avoid problems with regional radio regulations.
ARRI is pleased to offer sets of ERM-2400 LCS radio modules from FoMa Systems, significantly increasing the flexibility of wireless camera and lens control.
ERM-2400 LCS radio modules, sold by ARRI as a set of two with various adapter cables, extend an LCS, LBUS, or EXT cable connection, but wirelessly. The set can be used to connect ARRI and cmotion hand units to cameras and motor controllers with an exceptionally good wireless range of around 1,000 m/3,280 feet.
This will be extremely useful to filmmakers for situations where a stable radio connection is required over a long distance, such as action shots involving vehicles. Previously these kinds of scenarios could sometimes prove challenging for wireless hand units on their own, but with a set of ERM-2400 LCS radios, much more ambitious shots are made possible.
The ERM-2400 LCS is compatible with equipment providing LCS, LBUS, and EXT interfaces. A pair of ERM-2400 LCS modules can connect such two devices, for example:
ARRI WCU-4 or SXU-1 hand units and ALEXA Plus camera
ARRI WCU-4 or SXU-1 hand units and ALEXA Mini camera
ARRI WCU-4 or SXU-1 hand units and ALEXA Mini LF camera
ARRI WCU-4 or SXU-1 hand units and Universal Motor Controller UMC-4
ARRI Master Grip or Operator Control Unit OCU-1 and cforce motor
ARRI Digital Wheels DRW-1 and Digital Encoder Head DEH-1
cmotion cPRO hand unit and cforce motor
ARRI supplies the ERM-2400 LCS as an already paired set of two radio modules. Once plugged into a handset and camera device, they will automatically power up and wirelessly connect. The modules can be used as either transmitters or receivers. Pre-configured pairs can be identified by a matching number code on the back of each device.
ERM-2400 LCS sets are available from ARRI now. The basic set includes two radio modules, with antennas; LCS, LBUS, and EXT adapter cables; and a D-Tap power cable.

Winner of Best Director for Jacques Audiard at both Venice and the César Awards, The Sisters Brothers has an 87% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where the critics consensus calls the Western “a dangerous, witty, and emotionally cathartic exploration of what it means to be a man.”
The Sisters Brothers is based on the novel by Patrick deWitt, which was shortlisted for the 2011 Man Booker Prize.

As Owen, Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) won Favourite Butt Kicker Kids’ Choice and the Teen Choice Summer Movie Star: Male awards. Golden Globe nominee Bryce Dallas Howard also earned a Teen Choice Movie Star: Female award as Claire. The third biggest box office hit of 2018, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was nominated for a People’s Choice Award for Favourite Action Movie and was up for Best Science Fiction Film at the 2019 Saturn Awards from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.

Directed by Emmy nominee Jesse Peretz (Glow), Juliet, Naked stars Golden Globe nominee Rose Byrne (Damages), Emmy winner Chris O’Dowd (State of the Union, The IT Crowd), and four-time Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke (Before Sunset, Boyhood).
