SA Horrorfest, Special Halloween Viewing Party And More Lined Up For Horror Fans

October is traditionally a scary movie month as fans of horror, thriller, sci-fi and everything in between get their fix of films leading up to Halloween. This October just got even scarier as Frightfan.TV has partnered as the exclusive streaming platform for the SA Horrorfest, 16th Virtual Edition.

Running from 28 October – 13 November 2020, South Africa’s only and longest running horror festival includes over 45 features, 7 short film collections from around the world this year, including the South African film Fried Barry. With the 2020 festival being online, audiences from around the world can enjoy all the fear, frights and thrills that this festival has to offer. Some of films will have limited screenings, so best to check the schedule. Tickets are R50 per screening, or R600 for a full festival pass and go on sale 23 October.

In addition to the Horrorfest, Frightfan.TV is collaborating with movie reviewer and critic Stephen Aspeling (SPl!NG) and his “Bingeing with SPL!NG” series, for a special Halloween Online Watch Party of the film The Cleaning Lady and Videoman on Saturday 31 October. This exclusive event will include interviews and Q & A’s with The Cleaning Lady director Jon Knautz and cast members Rachel Alig and our very own Stelio Savante. There will also be a special “bedtime” reading by well-known local horror author Joan De La Haye for fans after the film. More information on this event is available here.

The Frightfan.TV VOD platform has recently been upgraded with optimization for mobile and screen casting, a Bargain Bin shelf where films only cost R10 per rental (with premium still being R25), single login step login, and seamless payment gateway. Audiences can also look forward to the platform launching a SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) service later this month allowing you to binge on as much horror/thriller and sci-fi as you can for one subscription monthly fee (pricing TBC).

Newly released films on FrightFan.TV include The Wind, Ghosts Of War and The Host, giving you even more reasons to curl up under your blankets or stay glued to your couch as you get your fix of films filled with horror, sci-fi, werewolves, zombies, the paranormal or the supernatural.. or whatever gets your blood flowing.
