SAMDB welcomes Lisa King, our newest member.
Lisa King, a previous Miss Teen SA and Runner up to Miss SA in 1992, has always been passionate about acting and art. She has been part of the entertainment industry for 24 years, appearing in numerous print campaigns, over 50 Television commercials and 4 films internationally. She was in Television Presenting for a UK company,had a starring role opposite Jean Claude van Damme in “Wake of Death”, a role in Home Alone 4 and has acted in various short films.
Lisa ventured into the art world after a few artists approached her asking her to represent them overseas on her modelling assignment travels. Upon her return to South Africa, Lisa opened her gallery in Cape Town's Cape Quarter. She is very involved with art consultancy and working on many residential and corporate projects in collaboration with some of Cape Town’s top interior designers. Specializing in top South African abstract /contemporary art. The Lisa King Gallery also carries a beautiful range of glassware, exotic glass chandeliers and ceramics.
Lisa is launching her shoe range , The Lisa King Collection, a range of shoes in collaboration with an art exhibition, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Peninsula School Feeding Association, at her gallery in the Cape Quarter.
The launch will take place at 18h00 on 26 March 2009, at The Lisa King Gallery, 72 Waterkant Street, Greenpoint.
Having travelled the world as a model, actress and art dealer, Lisa now shares her international flair with clientele in SA and abroad.
Lisa's life is full, but she maintains a balance between, modelling, acting, the gallery and her beautiful daughter, Jessica.
