Slamdance presents Producers 2 Day film course in Cape Town
Slamdance Africa Film Festival announces a new Producers 2 Day film course in Cape Town on the 21st / 22nd November 2009 that covers everything a first time feature filmmaker needs to complete his film from screenplay to acquisition.
The date for the Guerrilla 2 day film school is the weekend of the 7 / 8th November 2009.
Every October we receive over 4000 features, documentaries and shorts worldwide from first time filmmakers looking to screen their films in Park City, Utah.
For over a decade, alumni filmmakers have contributed to the festival by sharing their experiences with anyone who is attempting to make a career in film. Our alumni include Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Schizopolis), Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, Memento, Following), Marc Forster (The Kite Runner, Quantum Of Solace) Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite), Rian Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom) amongst dozens of award winning filmmakers.
We at Slamdance Film festival created the 2-Day Guerrilla Film School and the Producers course to demystify the film-making process, share idea's, promote new technologies and commune with other like minded artists, with a simple objective: Make Your Film.
These two low-cost courses cover everything needed for the filmmaker to learn the business of independent film by the people who make them.
We can guide you to your first film debut at Cannes Un Certain Regard, Toronto, Rotterdam Cinemart or Slamdance in Park City by showing you how to package and finance your films, navigate your way through local and European film funds for your work-in-progress, establish industry working relationships, sign with a reputable sales agent and sell your film.
Both Courses are R700 or R450 for students.
