PE Film and Model Expo 26 - 30 May 2010
2010-03-15An SAMDB initiative in collaboration with Uptown Theatres in Port Elizabeth and AFDA Cape Town.
The expo will kick off with exhibitor stands and film screenings, followed by a VIP evening, by invite only, titled "Old Hollywood' on the Wednesday, for industry professionals from PE, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
For the duration of the expo, talks will be held by industry professionals, with workshops covering various categories within the industry. There will be AFDA student film screenings, select feature film screenings and live entertainment.
The Thursday and Friday are aimed at actors, models and industry professionals of 16 years and older, as age restricted content will be covered. School groups are welcome, as well as the public.
The in-house chef from Uptown Theatres will cater for lunch and dinner to suit all appetites.
Saturday will be family day, and a day of workshops and screenings dedicated to animated films and child friendly activities, is planned.
Saturday evening is booked for our Wrap party, following an award ceremony for the most promising model and actor, voted for, from the pre-agency photographs and webcasts filmed by SAMDB / Showreel Africa, by the audience.
There will be an Introduction To Film workshop held as part of the expo, presented by top director / producer Zaheer Goodman-Bhyat. This will cover everything from idea to final product. See the article on the workshop for more details: www.samdb.co.za/news?newsid=062.
Films will be nominated for the Most Promising Film Award during evaluation, and the award presented at the awards evening on the 29th.
Short Film screenings: R10 each (R4 per screening will be donated to a charity)
Scholar fee for school groups : R20 per person
Workshops will be charged separately.
