Introduction To Film Workshop
2010-03-19Join Zaheer Goodman-Bhyat, Cape Town producer, director, writer (Greener Grass, Jacob's Cross, Scandal) from Light and Dark Films to explore acting, filming, producing, directing and editing. Due to Zaheer's success in the industry, The National Film and Video foundation identified him as one of the top producers in South Africa.
The Introduction To Film workshop, held as part of the Port Elizabeth Film and Model Expo, will take you from inception to conceptualisation to completion. Expo students will be placed into groups and given the opportunity to make their own film, after the invaluable information gained from this workshop.
- Day 1 (Wednesday 26 May):
- Workshop
- Make your film
- Day 2 (Thursday 27 May):
- Viewing and evaluation of footage.
- Select footage will be screened at the expo.
Best film will be awarded at the Award Ceremony 29 May 2010
When registering, please indicate what line you are interested in (Acting, Filming, Producing, Directing or Editing) and whether you have access to a computer (list any video editing software you might have) and / or a video camera (anything that can shoot video). You will be placed in groups which will form the crew of your production.
Cost: R200 per person.
Venue: Uptown Theatres, Rink Street, Port Elizabeth
You will gain access to the expo on the Thursday if you register for the Introduction To Film workshop.
A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking.

Students need to be 16 years or older.
A percentage of proceeds will be donated to aid the underprivileged and further their development in the entertainment industry in Port Elizabeth.
