Returns from 23 October – 17 November 2018
Following a sensational national tour and sold out performances, the Naledi, kykNET Fiësta and Fleur du Cap theatre award winning Die reuk van appels returns to The Fugard Theatre. Adapted from the acclaimed 1993 novel of Mark Behr, it tells the coming-of-age story of Marnus Erasmus, 11-year-old son of a South African Defence Force (SADF) general. It eloquently captures the Afrikaner mentality in the 70’s and 80’s and the brutal consequences of apartheid and militarisation of South African life
Afrikaans with English surtitles. Please note: the show carries an age restriction of 16 and contains scenes with sex, nudity, strong language, violence and prejudice.
