Warrior is a gritty, action-packed crime drama set during the brutal Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the second half of the 19th century. The series follows Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji), a martial arts prodigy who emigrates from China to San Francisco under mysterious circumstances and becomes a hatchet man for one of Chinatown’s most powerful organised crime families. Filmed in Cape Town, the show is based on writings of martial arts legend Bruce Lee and is created by Jonathan Tropper (Banshee), with Fast and Furious director Justin Lin as an executive producer.

Cinemax has renewed Warrior for a second season, also shot in Cape Town.

EUPHORIA S1

An HBO adaptation of an Israeli TV series of the same name, this adults-only teen show has been described as “Kids meets Trainspotting.” Zendaya (Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Greatest Showman, K.C. Undercover) stars as a 17-year-old named Rue, who returns home from rehab with no plans to stay clean, and strikes up a friendship with the new girl in town, Jules (trans superstar Hunter Schafer). Euphoria follows their group of high school students as they navigate love and friendships in a world of drugs, sex, trauma and social media.

Writers Guild of America nominee Sam Levinson (Wizard of Lies) wrote the screenplay based on his own experiences and battles with addiction as a teenager. He also directs five episodes.

HBO recently renewed Euphoria for a second season.

KIDDING S1

Jeff, a famous children’s television icon, struggles to retain his sanity as his family falls apart. Mostly directed by Oscar winner Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind), Kidding stars two-time Golden Globe winner Jim Carrey; Oscar nominees Frank Langella and Catherine Keener; and Judy Greer (Ant-Man).

Showtime has renewed Kidding for a second season.
