Kate Rok Sings A Love Song For Mother Nature

Kate Rok, the brunet and new star on the rise from Clarens with her distinctive “Voortrekkerkappie”, dazzled music lovers with the release of her captivating single, Maangenade on her birthday (1 July) this year.

Since then she dropped a new single and music video on digital platforms on the first day of every month. On 1 August she released Afrika Reën and on 1 September, Verlate followed.

Now she is back with her next radio single and music video, WILGERLIEDwhich promises to impress her followers and radio stations and win even more hearts and followers.

She wrote this alternative track as a reminder that we, as human beings, have a responsibility to look after Mother Nature. “I love being outdoors and draw a lot of inspiration from nature. It makes me feel rich and sets me free, and it is devastating to see the negative impact we have on it,” Kate shares. “This song gives me hope that mankind will realize how insignificant we are and that we will be left behind if we do not start taking care of the environment.”

This exceptional song, with its beautiful lyrics and harmonies will inspire listeners to fall in love with their surroundings all over again. “I want my music to touch people’s hearts and make them happy,” she says.

The music video, which was filmed on her father’s guest farm – Madeira – can be described as visual art adorned with the most beautiful outdoor scenes. “Beautiful shots of me experiencing the power of the Creator on a mountain top are placed in stark contrast with footage of a rubbish dump, which symbolizes the impact mankind has on the environment,” the musician explains.

“The message is to love, appreciate and take care of nature. That is why Madeira, nestled in the highest mountains against the Golden Gate National Park, was the perfect location for the video. There is no electricity or cell phone reception, the silence is almost deafening, and you are closer to the stars than you have ever been before.”

Dawid Raath of Peach Tree Productions filmed and edited the video, while her actor friend, Adelheid Broom directed. Styling was done by Christel Steyn, and Shirley Keyser and Hayley Nel made sure she looked her best in every shot.

Kate Rock, with her strong and independent personality has many plans for the future and she’s making music that will have a lasting impact on society and it will make South Africa a better place.

Kate Rok Sing ‘n Liefdeslied Vir Die Natuur

“Die natuur is my asem en waaruit ek my inspirasie put.
