Holmes, \u201cThe Seeds of Truth\u201d<br \/>Fred Martenson, \u201cDemons in America\u201d<br \/>Robin Rose Singer, \u201cThe Lions of Mesopotamia\u201d<br \/>David Harrison Turner, \u201cSafe Haven\u201d&nbsp;<br \/>Andrew Wankier, \u201cThree Heavens\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fellowships are awarded with the understanding that the recipients will each complete a feature-length screenplay during their fellowship year.&nbsp; The Academy acquires no rights to the works of Nicholl fellows and does not involve itself commercially in any way with their completed scripts.<br \/><br \/>The Academy Nicholl Fellowships Committee is chaired by Academy Short Films and Feature Animation Branch governor Jennifer Yuh Nelson.&nbsp; The members of the committee are John Bailey and Steven Poster (Cinematographers Branch); William Mechanic (Executives Branch); James Plannette and Stephen Ujlaki (Members-at-Large); Julie Lynn, Peter Samuelson and Robert W. Shapiro (Producers Branch); Bobbi Banks (Sound Branch); and Eric Heisserer, Larry Karaszewski, Dan Petrie Jr., Misan Sagay, Dana Stevens and Tyger Williams (Writers Branch).&nbsp;<br \/><br \/>The global competition, which aims to identify and encourage talented new screenwriters, has awarded 166 fellowships since it began in 1986.&nbsp; In 2020, several past Nicholl fellows added to their feature film and television credits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Michael Werwie wrote the Netflix movie, \u201cLost Girls.\u201d&nbsp;<\/li><li>Alfredo Botello is co-writing \u201cSpace Jam: A New Legacy,\u201d with Ryan Coogler producing and Malcolm D. Lee directing.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Terri Miller and Andrew Marlowe are showrunners for CBS\u2019s \u201cThe Equalizer,\u201d starring Queen Latifah.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Nikole Beckwith wrote and directed \u201cTogetherish,\u201d starring Ed Helms and Patti Harrison.&nbsp;<\/li><li>James Mottern wrote and is set to direct \u201cSummer Madness,\u201d starring Anna Faris.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Elizabeth Chomko will direct the film adaptation of Bess Kalb\u2019s memoir, <em>Nobody Will Tell You This but Me<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Matt Harris\u2019s fellowship year script \u201cThe Starling\u201d is in post-production. Netflix recently bought the drama-comedy for ~$20 million based on Matt\u2019s script and a four-minute sizzle reel.<\/li><li>Melissa Iqbal is adapting the novel <em>The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August<\/em> to the screen.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Rebecca Sonnenshine is the co-creator of a new Netflix horror series based on the horror podcast \u201cArchive 81.\u201d<\/li><li>S.J.
