Academy board of governors 2021-2022 officers elected<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Casting director David Rubin<\/strong> was re-elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences by the organization\u2019s Board of Governors.

Also elected to officer positions by the Board:

\u2022 DeVon Franklin<\/strong>, Vice President (chair, Equity and Inclusion Committee)
\u2022 Donna Gigliotti<\/strong>, Vice President\/Secretary (chair, Governance Committee)
\u2022 Larry Karaszewski<\/strong>, Vice President (chair, History and Preservation Committee)
\u2022 David Linde<\/strong>, Vice President\/Treasurer (chair, Finance Committee)
\u2022 Isis Mussenden<\/strong>, Vice President (chair, Museum Committee)
\u2022 Wynn P. Thomas<\/strong>, Vice President (chair, Education and Outreach Committee)
\u2022 Jennifer Todd<\/strong>, Vice President (chair, Awards Committee)
\u2022 Janet Yang<\/strong>, Vice President (chair, Membership Committee)

Rubin is beginning his third term as president and his ninth year as a governor representing the Casting Directors Branch.\u00a0 Karaszewski, Mussenden, Thomas and Yang were re-elected as officers.\u00a0 This will be the first officer stint for\u00a0Franklin, Gigliotti, Linde and Todd.

With more than 100 film and television credits, Rubin has cast such features as \u201cThe English Patient,\u201d \u201cMen in Black,\u201d \u201cHairspray,\u201d \u201cLars and the Real Girl,\u201d \u201cThe Talented Mr. Ripley,\u201d \u201cFour Weddings and a Funeral,\u201d \u201cGet Shorty,\u201d \u201cMy Best Friend\u2019s Wedding,\u201d \u201cWilliam Shakespeare\u2019s Romeo + Juliet,\u201d \u201cSpaceballs,\u201d \u201cFried Green Tomatoes\u201d and \u201cThe Firm.\u201d

Academy board members may serve up to two three-year terms, followed by at least a two-year hiatus, after which they may serve up to two additional three-year terms.\u00a0 Officers serve one-year terms, with a maximum of four consecutive years in any one office.

The number of officer positions increased to nine this year with the addition of the Equity and Inclusion Committee and the separation of Membership and Governance into two committees.
