Singer-songwriter Kyle September<\/strong>, whose debut single Sweetness<\/em> rocked local airwaves last year, has just announced the release of his second single.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANALOG HEART<\/em><\/strong> is an upbeat pop song with personal significance. Written by Kyle, the inspiration for this song came while he was on tour in Botswana. \u201cPart of the tour was a duo called Match. Their musical stylings inspired the aesthetic of ANALOG HEART<\/strong>,\u201d<\/em> he explains. The title, however, pays homage to 2008 American Idol<\/em>-winner David Cook\u2019s debut album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter his season on \u2018Idols\u2019 I was a fan and found he had released an album before the competition. I fell in love with the album and was intrigued at what the album title meant to me metaphorically. Years later, it became the perfect title for a song I wanted to write about myself.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANALOG HEART<\/em><\/strong> is deeply personal for Kyle, who admits that he generally finds it difficult to express his feelings, unless it\u2019s in his most fluent language \u2013 music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe song is about me. It\u2019s an explanation of how I think and function, and an admission that I know I\u2019m difficult to understand sometimes. I can be very pragmatic. I\u2019m great at taking emotions out of any situation to forge a clear path for efficient handling and problem solving. Truth is, I\u2019m as emotional as the next guy. I just bottle it up. To make all this relatable, I\u2019ve wrapped it up in the familiar form of a quirky love song.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the personal nature of the song, Kyle believes that it will appeal to a wide audience as it is catchy and aesthetically cute. \u201cWhile it is fun to bob or sing along to, I think people will also relate to and appreciate the deeper meaning behind the song,\u201d<\/em> he adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANALOG HEART<\/em><\/strong> follows on the feel-good, festive summer anthem Sweetness<\/em>, which was released in December 2020. \u201cThe response to \u2018Sweetness\u2019 exceeded my wildest expectations,\u201d <\/em>says Kyle. \u201cI wanted it to be a joyful summer hit, and I was very happy and excited that so many people were calling it exactly that!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist is working on an accompanying music video for ANALOG HEART<\/em><\/strong>, more details of which will be released soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle has been working in the industry for around ten years but has loved music for as long as he can remember. \u201cWhile my mother was pregnant with me, my father would play guitar and sing to me. He taught me how to play guitar when I was 12 years old, and I\u2019ve been playing guitar, singing and writing songs ever since.\u201d It was his involvement in church youth bands as a teenager, however, that was arguably the most important stage in his growth as a young musician. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it came to playing instruments, Kyle didn\u2019t stop at the guitar \u2013 he also learned to play bass guitar, drums, and a bit of piano before enrolling at the Wits School of Arts, where he graduated with a BMus Honours degree in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle lists his career highlights as performing at Afriski, opening for Francois van Coke at the Misty Waters Festival, and co-hosting an online show with Graeme Watkins during lockdown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Kyle\u2019s mind is occupied by music 24\/7, he also enjoys playing sport and has been a part-time sports coach since 2009. In addition, he has two active corporate band projects, Mash\u2019d Potatoes and Mobile Music Machine, which keeps him busy. Despite a full schedule, Kyle is currently working on his third single, as well as his debut album, which he aims to release early next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like Sweetness<\/em>, ANALOG HEART<\/em><\/strong> is sure to appeal to listeners of all ages thanks to its unique blend of feel-good pop combined with Kyle\u2019s powerful voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die sanger en liedjieskrywer, Kyle September<\/strong>, wat verlede jaar groot sukses op die radio behaal het met sy debuut-enkelsnit \u2013 Sweetness<\/em>, het pas die tweede liedjie uit sy eie pen aan die publiek vrygestel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANALOG HEART<\/strong><\/em> is \u2019n opgewekte popliedjie wat vir hom, persoonlik, baie beteken. Di\u00e9 snit is geskryf terwyl hy op toer was in Botswana. \u201c\u2019n Duo met die naam, Match, was deel van die toer. Hulle klank het ANALOG HEART ge\u00efnspireer,\u201d<\/em> verduidelik hy. Ek was mal daaroor en was verstom oor wat die titel metafories vir my beteken het. Jare later, het dit die perfekte titel geword vir die liedjie wat ek oor myself wou skryf.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANALOG HEART<\/strong><\/em> is vir Kyle \u2019n baie persoonlike liedjie en hy erken dat hy sukkel om sy emosies uit te druk in \u2019n ander taal as musiek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie liedjie gaan oor my. Dit verduidelik hoe ek dink en funksioneer en is \u2019n erkenning dat ek soms moeilik is om te verstaan. Ek kan baie pragmaties wees en is baie goed daarmee om emosie uit \u2019n situasie te haal om die probleem doeltreffend op te los. Die waarheid is, dat ek net so emosioneel is soos die volgende ou. Ek krop net my emosies op. Omdat ek wou h\u00ea dat mense moet aanklank vind, het ek dit verpak in die formaat van \u2019n oulike liefdesliedjie.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die sanger glo dat alhoewel dit baie persoonlik is, mense daarvan sal hou omdat dit \u2019n lekkerluister-wysie en oulike woorde het. \u201cAlhoewel dit lekker is om mee saam te sing, dink ek tog dat luisteraars die dieper betekenis agter die liedjie sal waardeer,\u201d <\/em>voeg hy by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANALOG HEART<\/strong><\/em> volg in die voetspore van sy goedvoel-somerkreet, Sweetness<\/em>, wat in Desember 2020 uitgereik is. \u201cDie reaksie op \u2018Sweetness\u2019 het my verwagtinge oortref,\u201d<\/em> s\u00ea hy. \u201cEk wou \u2019n opgewekte treffer vir die somer skep en is baie bly om te hoor dat die publiek dit so ervaar het!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die kunstenaar is tans besig om aan \u2019n musiekvideo vir sy nuutste treffer te werk, maar wil nog nie te veel daaroor verklap nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle is reeds vir meer as tien jaar in die musiekbedryf doenig en was al versot op musiek vir solank as wat hy kan onthou. \u201cMy pa het vir my kitaar gespeel en gesing terwyl my ma swanger was<\/em>. Hy het my geleer kitaarspeel toe ek twaalf was en kort daarna het ek begin liedjies skryf en sing.\u201d<\/em> As tiener, was Kyle deel van die kerk se jeugmusiekgroep. Dit het, volgens die kunstenaar, \u2019n groot impak op hom gehad en was een van die belangrikste fases van sy musiekloopbaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle het verder ook die baskitaar, dromme en klavier bemeester voordat hy ingeskryf het by die Wits School of Arts, waar hy in 2016 sy honneursgraad in BMus behaal het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hy sonder sy optrede by Afriski, \u2019n openingsvertoning vir Francois van Coke by die Misty Waters-fees, en om saam met Graeme Watkins \u2019n aanlynvertoning te hou gedurende grendeltyd as van die grootste hoogtepunte van sy loopbaan sover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alhoewel hy vier-en-twintig-uur per dag aan musiek dink, geniet die musikant ook sport en is hy al sedert 2009 \u2019n deeltydse afrigter. Verder is hy ook besig met twee aktiewe korporatiewe musiekgroepprojekte, Mash\u2019d Potatoes en Mobile Music Machine, wat hom baie besig hou. Ten spyte van sy besige skedule, is Kyle tans ook besig om aan sy derde enkelsnit te werk, asook aan sy debuut-album wat hy vroeg volgende jaar wil vrystel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
