POSDUIF<\/strong> has a gift for expressing thoughts and feelings in an easy-listening and relatable way, and their latest single is no exception. In true POSDUIF<\/strong> style, NIKS VERGELYK<\/em><\/strong> takes something many of us take for granted \u2013 the gift of friendship \u2013 and celebrates it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The single, written by lead singer James Boland and guitarist Nick Jordaan, is a great singalong song. But, as with all their songs, it is not only aimed at getting people on their feet, but also has deep meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe all have a friend who is unique and who has a characteristic way of doing things; a friend who is fun and with whom we can let loose and laugh. This song is about that friend,\u201d<\/em> says James. \u201cBut it is also about realising that life isn\u2019t always a party and that even the happiest people experience sorrow and hurt. That\u2019s when friends need one another the most. In essence, it\u2019s about being thankful for friendship.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song, explains Boland, was inspired by a friend who was going through a difficult time and who needed to know that they were there to support him. \u201cWe all have someone in our lives we\u2019d like to thank for their friendship; someone we\u2019d like to tell \u2018I\u2019m here for you\u2019.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In true POSDUIF<\/strong> fashion, the release of this catchy song is complemented by an equally exciting music video filmed and directed by SAMA nominated producer, Kyle White at Soir\u00e9e in Sunninghill. Because the song has an eighties inspired soundscape, they decided on a fun themed performance video concept. \u201cKyle filmed our very first music video and we have become great friends over the years and enjoy working with him. Because it is an eighties throwback video, it is more of an experience, and is guaranteed to make you smile,\u201d<\/em> explains Jordaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c<\/em>There is no progression or narrative to the music video. It is set on a \u2018live\u2019 concert stage and the boys are having the most epic jol,\u201d<\/em> <\/em>says Kyle. \u201cI have known these gentlemen for a very long time and always enjoy working with them, because they are so much fun. They love what they do, and their music speak to that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bassist, Amiel Gopal adds that he thinks fans will be able to relate to this video because it symbolises the memories and quirks associated with long-lasting friendships. \u201c<\/em><\/a>I think it\u2019s more engaging and a lot of fun to watch and really gives the viewer the experience of what our live show could be like.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe wanted the video to look authentically vintage and not cheap. Everything, from the dance moves to the wardrobe was thought through, even if they weren\u2019t the \u2018cool\u2019 choices\u2026 polo necks and all,\u201d<\/em> producer and lead-guitarist, Brendan Campbell concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
