Ilse-Lee van Niekerk (<em>4 Mure<\/em>, <em>Die Boekklub<\/em>) stars as Jessica, a wedding planner who\u2019s in love with love but struggling to find it for herself. Fleur du Cap nominee Bianca Flanders (<em>N\u00earens, Noord-Kaap<\/em>; <em>Address Unknown<\/em>) and former child star Blyde Smit (<em>Erfsondes) <\/em>co-star as her best friend and sister respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Troukoors | A Showmax Original | First Look\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TozEpxjVOPw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a funny, heartfelt and naughty romcom about love, family and friendship,\u201d says Bianca. \u201cThis is the world we know as South Africans but don\u2019t often see on TV. You&#8217;ll finish watching with a full heart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Troukoors<\/em> is made by SAFTA winner Louis Pretorius and SAFTA nominee Albert Snyman of Infinity Films, the creators of critically acclaimed and much-loved shows like <em>Die Boekklub<\/em> and <em>Fynskrif<\/em>, with regular collaborator Nina Swart directing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019ve rounded up a mix of fresh and familiar faces for the series, including SAFTA winners Kevin Smith (<em>Skemerdans<\/em>) and Tinarie van Wyk Loots (<em>Fynskrif<\/em>), Silwerskerm winner Lea Vivier (<em>Wonderlus<\/em>, <em>DAM<\/em>), Danny Ross (<em>Nommer 37<\/em>), Armand Aucamp (Tom in <em>Die Boekklub<\/em>), Christiaan Schoombie (<em>Warrior<\/em>), Evan Hengst (Miles in <em>The Kissing Booth 1-3<\/em>), Edwin van der Walt (<em>Wonderlus<\/em>), and Fiesta Upcoming Artist nominee Emma van Heyn, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early reviews show critics already falling in love with the quirky romcom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOn the surface, <em>Troukoors<\/em> is like champagne &#8211; light and cheerful,\u201d says <em>Netwerk24<\/em>\u2019s Laetitia Pople. \u201cBut then the plot reels you in and before you know it you are attached to everyone, and you love them for their peculiarities and transgressions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI loved it,\u201d says <em>Die Son<\/em>\u2019s Kelly-Lee Ohlson. \u201cIt is hip, current, and luxurious, and the dialogue is the cherry on the cake. I am a huge fan of Nina Swart: she stole my heart with <em>Fynskrif<\/em>, and I am definitely in love with <em>Troukoors<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat a blast to watch a series like this&#8230; and in Afrikaans!\u201d says OFM\u2019s Renaldo Schwarp. \u201cThe casting was absolutely perfect; Ilse-Lee does a stellar job at leading and carrying this vibrant and naughty approach to local romcoms. This should be on top of everyone&#8217;s binge list this December holiday! It&#8217;s heartfelt and just pure joy to watch.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lekker FM\u2019s Simon\u00e9 Stroop agrees. \u201c<em>Troukoors<\/em> is fresh, funny and will tug at your heartstrings.
