An adventure in the spirit of \u2018Sex & the City\u2019 and \u2018Girls Trip\u2019, \u2018Singleholic\u2019<\/strong> tells the story of Erica Ash (Sarah Wilcox), a woman who moves to Mauritius to pursue her PhD after a painful breakup with her boyfriend.\u00a0 While there, she goes on a series of very funny dating encounters only to realise that the key to her happiness is to first be comfortable in her own skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singleholic – Erica Ash and Rotimi Akinosho<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The film stars heartthrob and multi-talented, Nigerian-American Olurotimi Akinosho, better known by his stage name Rotimi. The 33-year-old actor, musician, songwriter and model best known for his role in the STARZ hit series \u2018Power\u2019 as Andre \u2018Dre\u2019 Coleman and \u2018Boss\u2019.  His most recent outing was in Eddie Murphy\u2019s \u2018Coming 2 America\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with Erica Ash (\u2018Survivor’s Remorse\u2019, \u2018Uncle Drew\u2019), he appears opposite Stephen Bishop (\u2018Being Mary Jane\u2019), Tyson Beckford (superstar model and actor), Vanessa A. Williams (\u2018New Jack City\u2019, \u2018Soul Food\u2019) and Adrian Martinez (\u2018Focus\u2019, \u2018I Feel Pretty\u2019). In the role of Sam Bishop, he is Sarah\u2019s other romantic love interest, a struggling artist who is studying towards his master\u2019s degree at the same university where Sarah is completing her PhD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rotimi made his silver screen debut in the film \u2018Black Nativity\u2019 (2013). Following this, he starred in \u2018Imperial Dreams\u2019 at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival which later won for Best of NEXT. His next film appearance was in the high grossing film, \u2018Divergent\u2019 (2014). In 2016, he acted in the movie \u2018Deuces\u2019 alongside Lance Gross and Larenz Tate. Most recently, he appeared in the 2021 romcom \u2018Coming 2 America\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singleholic – Olurotimi ‘Rotimi’ Akinosho<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Beyond his on-screen persona, Rotimi blends contemporary R&B with vintage Afrobeat and Jamaican Dancehall. He has developed his own smooth sound after growing up listening to the likes of global influences Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, and Lauryn Hill. His role in the hugely popular \u2018Power\u2019 led to his hit single \u2018In My Bed<\/a>\u2019 featuring Wale going viral on TikTok in 2020. The song is off his \u2018The Beauty Of Becoming EP\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the success of \u2018In My Bed\u2019, which earned him his first Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) gold certification, the star signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Empire Music. In August 2021, he released his debut album \u2018All or Nothing\u2019, which coincided with the announcement of the much-anticipated remake of the 1990 cult comedy \u2018House Party\u2019, which will premiere on HBO Max.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2015, 50 Cent signed Rotimi to his label, G-Unit Records. He also released his first G-Unit single \u2018Lotto\u2019 featuring 50 Cent. In 2016, Rotimi released \u2018Doin it\u2019, a single from his 5-track project, Summer Bangerz. In 2017 he released his first debut EP called \u2018Jeep Music Vol.1\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, he released two digital mixtapes, \u2018The Resume\u2019 (2011) and \u2018While You Wait\u2019 (2011). His videos have been featured on international entertainment media including MTV, MTV Base, and VH1 Soul. Rotimi has performed on stage, opening for Jennifer Hudson, T.I., Estelle, and NERD. He also performed on BET\u2019s show \u2018106 and Park\u2019 and appeared in R&B singer Keyshia Cole’s music video \u2018Trust and Believe\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Singleholic\u2019 is produced by Milan Selassie and is based on the novel by the same name from English author Katherine Bing.  Bryan Barber served as the director. This film was shot in Mauritius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
