With the successful release of her debut single and music video, Krimineel<\/em><\/a>, Mia<\/strong> managed to conquer the hearts of many South African music lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the talented singer (originally from Potchefstroom) is back to win over even more hearts with the release of her second single, WATERVAL<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Written by Emil Paul, the song can be described as a contemporary Afrikaans track that will appeal to listeners of all ages. \u201cThe purpose of the song is to make people feel inspired,\u201d<\/em> she explains. \u201cI fell in love with the lyrics from the get-go and I hope that listeners will also be able to relate to and find meaning in the song.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mia<\/strong> (a.k.a. Mariska Pretorius) has been working in the music industry since 2008 and is well-known for her participation on The Voice SA<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, the spontaneous artist has performed at some of the country\u2019s most prestigious music festivals, did several television interviews and opened for big names like Jay, Fatman and Nicholis Louw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She recently moved to Johannesburg and has a lot of plans for the future, including a new album and single. She is currently a teacher at Kempton Park Primary School and her subjects include Afrikaans, Art and First Additional Language. \u201cI thoroughly enjoy teaching \u2013 all I would like to achieve is to make a difference in one pupil\u2019s life \u2013 or if they can just remember one good tip in class, I will be happy,\u201c <\/em>she says. Mia<\/strong> also recently got engaged to her boyfriend of 5 years, Sean Peens (accountant at Kruger & Kie). They are planning to get married in September 2022. When asked how she finds JHB life? \u201cI really enjoy living in Johannesburg \u2013 I just have to get used to the traffic!,\u201d<\/em> she laughs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\u2019s always cautious of people\u2019s intentions and she works hard for what she wants from life and her career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has always been important to her to include meaningful music in her repertoire and WATERVAL<\/em><\/strong> is a perfect example of her impeccable taste and incredible talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Met die vrystelling van haar debuut-enkelsnit en musiekvideo, Krimineel,<\/em> het Mia<\/strong> sommer diep in plaaslike musiekharte kom kruip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Om die nuwe jaar te vier, is hierdie talentvolle sangeres (oorspronklik van Potchefstroom) terug in die kollig met \u2019n splinternuwe enkelsnit wat vir haar n\u00f3g meer bewonderaars gaan inpalm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WATERVAL<\/strong><\/em>,<\/em> uit die pen van Emil Paul, kan beskryf word as \u2019n kontempor\u00eare Afrikaanse snit wat aanklank sal vind by oud en jonk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie doel van die liedjie is om mense te inspireer en is geskep om vir elke luisteraar \u2019n unieke boodskap te gee,\u201d <\/em>verduidelik sy. \u201cEk was van die begin af verlief op die snit omdat dit met my praat en dis presies wat ek wil h\u00ea dit met die gehoor ook moet doen. Buiten daarvoor dat dit paartjies moontlik gaan motiveer om met mekaar te dans, gaan dit ook verskillende emosies ontlok by elkeen wat daarna luister.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mia <\/strong>(oftewel Mariska Pretorius) werk al sedert 2008 in die musiekbedryf en het veral naam gemaak met haar deelname aan The Voice SA<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oor die jare, het di\u00e9 spontane kunstenaar met haar suiwer stem al by van die land se grootste musiekfeeste opgetree, televisieonderhoude gedoen en vertonings geopen vir groot name soos Jay, Fatman en Nicholis Louw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mia<\/strong> het pas Johannesburg toe verhuis en het nog baie planne vir die toekoms, wat onder andere \u2019n nuwe enkelsnit en album insluit. Sy is \u2018n onderwyseres by Laerskool Kempton Park en haar vakke sluit Afrikaans, EAT en Kuns in. \u201cEk geniet onderwys verskriklik baie \u2013 al wat ek wil bereik is om net een kind se lewe te verander, of as hulle net een goeie wenk kan onthou wat ek in die klas gee, dan sal ek gelukkig wees,\u201d<\/em> s\u00ea sy. Sy het ook onlangs verloof geraak aan Sean Peens (rekenmeester by Kruger en Kie) met wie sy al 5 jaar in \u2018n verhouding is. Hulle beoog om in September 2022 te trou. Wanneer jy vir haar vra hoe dit is om in Johannesburg te bly? \u201cEk geniet dit vreeslik baie in die besige stad \u2013 ek moet nog net gewoond raak aan die verkeer!!,\u201d<\/em> skerts sy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sy vertrou nie sommer net enigiemand nie en werk hard vir dit wat sy uit die lewe en haar musiekloopbaan wil h\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Om die regte musiek, met waardevolle boodskappe en lewenslesse, te kies was nog altyd vir haar baie belangrik en met WATERVAL<\/strong><\/em> het sy nie net \u2019n besonderse liedjie deel gemaak van haar arsenaal nie, maar ook lewe gegee aan \u2019n treffer wat nog lank oor die radio gehoor sal word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
