Zaan Sonnekus<\/strong> has mastered the art of combining meaningful lyrics with unique pop-rock sounds to get an exceptional end result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest alternative track, from his own pen, once again shows just how talented this Pretorian really is.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to this skilful songwriter, with his captivating stage personality and artistic collection of tattoos, KRAPMERKE<\/em><\/strong> is about the pieces of the people in your life that remains with you. \u201cWe tend to adopt certain mannerisms and characteristics of the people in our lives, whether they are still with us or not,\u201d <\/em>he explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An encounter with a tramp inspired this chillingly beautiful song, produced by Tertius Human of Coolerbox Records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter a brief conversation I realized that we are very similar but come from different worlds. There was a part of him in me and of me in him; our stories were parallel to one another but were influenced by different characters and settings.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

KRAPMERKE<\/em><\/strong> is Zaan\u2019s fifth (Ek Kan Net Bid<\/em>, Hoog<\/em>, Tiernerkwaad <\/em>and Ten Minste Vir My<\/em>) single and forms part of his debut-album, Zonneblom<\/em>, which was released in 2021 and has been a big career highlight for him in the six years that he has been in the music industry. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he is not on stage, he is part of Son Studios and Son Sound and is also co-owner of INNER INK, which manufactures hardened glass on an industrial level and does ceramic printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKRAPMERKE<\/strong> has a friendly, nostalgic sound with lyrics that run deeper than the music. It reminds me of what is really important, and I hope that it will make a difference in the lives of everyone who listens to it,\u201d <\/em>he concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ons almal vorm deel van mekaar en ons almal neem mekaar aan,\u201d<\/em> verduidelik hy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2019n Ontmoeting met \u2019n boemelaar was die inspirasie agter hierdie hoendervleismooi lied, wat deur Tertius Human van Coolerbox Records vervaardig is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns het gesels en ek het agtergekom dat ons ons baie eenders is, maar van verskillende w\u00earelde af kom. Daar was \u2019n deel van hom in my en van my in hom; ons stories was parallel aan mekaar, maar het verskillende karakters en milieu.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

KRAPMERKE<\/strong><\/em> is Zaan, wat in Bloemfontein grootgeword het, se vyfde (Ek Kan Net Bid<\/em>, Hoog<\/em>, Tiernerkwaad <\/em>en Ten Minste Vir My<\/em>) enkelsnit en vorm deel van sy album, Zonneblom<\/em>, wat in 2021 vrygestel en vir hom \u2019n groot loopbaanhoogtepunt is in die ses jaar wat hy nou al in die musiekbedryf doenig is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wanneer hy nie besig is met musiek nie, is hy betrokke by Son Studios en Son Sound en is hy ook mede-eienaar van \u2019n besigheid, INNER INK, wat op industri\u00eble vlak verharde glas vervaardig en keramiek-drukwerk doen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
