The 2022 National Rugby League promises to be a thrilling season of action-packed rugby league from down under<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>After an adjusted season that was played in a bubble last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Australian rugby clubs will return to their home grounds for the 2022 season of the National Rugby League<\/em><\/strong> (NRL), which kicks off this weekend. The much anticipated season of Australia\u2019s top-level domestic men\u2019s rugby league will air to audiences across the African continent live on ESPN2 (DStv 219), every weekend from Friday 11 March 2021, bringing the best action from the Australian rugby league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The season starts with Brisbane Broncos<\/em><\/strong> taking on the South Sydney Rabbitohs<\/em><\/strong> on Friday 11 March at 11:05 (CAT), followed by Wests Tigers<\/em><\/strong> facing Melbourne Storm<\/em><\/strong> on Saturday 12 March at 10:35 on ESPN 2. On Sunday 13 March, North Queensland Cowboys<\/em><\/strong> will go head to head with Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reigning champs Penrith Panthers<\/em><\/strong>, who won their third premiership at the conclusion of the 2021 season, will be keen to defend their title, while South Sydney Rabbitohs<\/em><\/strong>, who boast the most NRL premierships in the league (21) will stop at nothing to claim another title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The action on the field is expected to be intense, with matches broadcast every weekend on ESPN 2, right through to the NRL Grand Final 2022<\/em><\/strong>, which will take place on Sunday, 2 October, at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governed by the Australian Rugby League Commission, the NRL is Australia’s most entertaining and popular sport, with a rich history dating back to its creation in 1908. At its heart, the NRL encourages community-driven sport, played by thousands of people across Australia, especially in country areas.
