The ESPN Africa Boxing<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>tournament is building momentum as every month, the continent\u2019s top boxing talent compete for glory in exciting matchups, showcasing their combat prowess in the ring. The sixteenth instalment of the Africa Boxing<\/em><\/strong> series will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on Thursday 21 April 2022 from 19:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two title fights will feature at this month\u2019s event. Cowin Ray (champion) will take on Andile Mntungwa (challenger) in the SA Super Middleweight Title<\/em><\/strong> fight, while Bangile Nyangani (champion) and Loyiso Ngantweni (challenger) will compete for the SA Mini Flyweight Title<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mzuvukile Magwaca will make his return to the ring in an undercard fight. The boxer who is nicknamed \u201cOld Bones\u201d was the IBF Inter-Continental Bantamweight Champion at the highpoint in his career, when he was shot in a robbery in his home in 2018. Having started boxing as a child, he made his professional debut in 2009 and racked up a record of 23 fights, 20 wins, no losses and 3 draws. After many years, much rehabilitation, therapy, training, and support from the Cape Town boxing community, Magwaca now plans to make a comeback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
