Disney+, the streaming service from The Walt Disney Company, launches today in South Africa. Standard pricing at launch is confirmed at R119 per month, or R1190 for an annual subscription, with sign-up information available at disneyplus.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 1000 films, more than 1500 series and a slate of 200 exclusive Originals from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and general entertainment from Star, Disney+ offers fans the greatest stories, all in one place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously announced, subscribers will have access to Star Wars\u2019 \u201cThe Book of Boba Fett\u201d, both seasons of \u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d and, from 27 May, the highly anticipated \u201cObi-Wan Kenobi\u201d. In addition, Disney+ will be the home of the entire Skywalker saga, with Star Wars Episodes 1 through 9 streaming on the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confirmed from launch, superhero fans will have access to over 60 Marvel Studios\u2019 films including Academy Award\u00ae-nominated \u201cShang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings\u201d, \u201cEternals\u201d, \u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d and \u201cCaptain Marvel\u201d, and over 80 Marvel Studios\u2019 series including \u201cMoon Knight\u201d, \u201cLoki\u201d and \u201cWandaVision\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subscribers will also be able to enjoy over 100 titles from Disney and Pixar, including the entire \u201cToy Story\u201d franchise, the Academy Award\u00ae-winning \u201cSoul\u201d and the Academy Award\u00ae-nominated \u201cLuca\u201d. From Walt Disney Animation Studios, stream the Academy Award\u00ae-winning \u201cEncanto\u201d which tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, and fan favorites \u201cFrozen\u201d and \u201cFrozen 2\u201d. Disney fans can also stream the Academy Award\u00ae-winning \u201cCruella\u201d starring Emma Stone as the legendary \u201cCruella de Vil\u201d and Disney\u2019s \u201cJungle Cruise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Geographic documentaries including \u201cThe Rescue\u201d and \u201cFree Solo\u201d, from Academy Award\u00ae-winning directors and producers E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, will sit alongside popular National Geographic series such as \u201cThe World According To Jeff Goldblum\u201d and \u201cGordon Ramsay: Uncharted\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In general entertainment, subscribers will also be able to watch titles including the hit original comedy series \u201cOnly Murders in the Building,\u201d limited series \u201cPam and Tommy\u201d, \u201cThe Kardashians\u201d, \u201cQueens\u201d, and mystery thriller \u201cDeath on the Nile\u201d, directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh, as well as \u201cThe Simpsons\u201d and back seasons of \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy\u201d, \u201c9-1-1″, and \u201cBlack-ish\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With unprecedented access to Disney\u2019s vault, beloved classics such as “Cinderella\u201d, \u201cTangled\u201d, \u201cThe Princess and the Frog\u201d, and “The Little Mermaid\u201d, will be available to stream alongside recent blockbusters like \u201cRaya and the Last Dragon\u201d. There will also be hundreds of Disney Channel series, shorts, and specials available to stream, including \u201cMiraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir\u201d and \u201cPhineas and Ferb\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
