From Oscar-nominated visionary filmmaker Baz Luhrmann comes Warner Bros. Pictures\u2019 drama \u201cElvis<\/a>,\u201d starring Austin Butler and Oscar winner Tom Hanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Butler), seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley\u2019s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis\u2019s life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starring alongside Hanks and Butler, award-winning theatre actress Helen Thomson (\u201cTop of the Lake: China Girl,\u201d \u201cRake\u201d) plays Elvis\u2019s mother, Gladys, Richard Roxburgh (\u201cMoulin Rouge!\u201d \u201cBreath,\u201d \u201cHacksaw Ridge\u201d) portrays Elvis\u2019s father, Vernon, and DeJonge (\u201cThe Visit,\u201d \u201cStray Dolls\u201d) plays Priscilla. Luke Bracey (\u201cHacksaw Ridge,\u201d \u201cPoint Break\u201d) plays Jerry Schilling, Natasha Bassett (\u201cHail, Caesar!\u201d) plays Dixie Locke, David Wenham (\u201cThe Lord of the Rings\u201d Trilogy, \u201cLion,\u201d \u201c300\u201d) plays Hank Snow, Kelvin Harrison Jr. (\u201cThe Trial of the Chicago 7,\u201d \u201cThe High Note\u201d) plays B.B. King, Xavier Samuel (\u201cAdore,\u201d \u201cLove & Friendship,\u201d \u201cThe Twilight Saga: Eclipse\u201d) plays Scotty Moore, and Kodi Smit-McPhee (\u201cThe Power of the Dog\u201d) plays Jimmie

To play additional iconic musical artists in the film, Luhrmann cast singer\/songwriter Yola as Sister Rosetta Tharpe, model Alton Mason as Little Richard, Austin, Texas native Gary Clark Jr. as Arthur Crudup, and artist Shonka Dukureh as Willie Mae \u201cBig Mama\u201d Thornton.

Principal photography on \u201cElvis\u201d took place in Queensland, Australia with the support of the Queensland Government, Screen Queensland and the Australian Government\u2019s Producer Offset program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Warner Bros. Pictures Presentation, A Bazmark Production, A Jackal Group Production, A Baz Luhrmann Film, \u201cElvis\u201d will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is set to release in theaters in North America on June 24, 2022, and internationally beginning 22 June 2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n
