Tompkins introduced panelists Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios\u2019 head of streaming television and animation; Ryan Meinerding, head of visual development; Bryan Andrews, director of \u201cWhat If\u2026?\u201d and executive producer of \u201cMarvel Zombies\u201d; AC Bradley, writer and executive producer of \u201cWhat If\u2026?\u201d; Beau DeMayo, writer and executive producer of \u201cX-Men \u201997\u201d; Kirsten Lepore, writer, director and executive producer of \u201cI Am Groot\u201d; and Jeff Trammell, writer and executive producer of \u201cSpider-Man: Freshman Year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following projects were featured in the discussion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.samdb.co.za\/title\/2180\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I AM GROOT<\/a>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IAMGroot-poster.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"450\" height=\"666\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IAMGroot-poster.jpg?resize=450%2C666&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IAMGroot-poster.jpg?w=450&amp;ssl=1 450w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IAMGroot-poster.jpg?resize=203%2C300&amp;ssl=1 203w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI Am Groot\u201d writer\/director\/executive producer Kirsten Lepore answered questions about the upcoming series and treated the audience to the trailer and new key art. A surprise screening of one of the shorts, \u201cGroot Takes a Bath,\u201d delighted everyone, and applause greeted the announcement of a second collection of shorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s no guarding the galaxy from this mischievous toddler! So get ready as Baby Groot takes center stage in his very own collection of shorts, exploring his glory days growing up\u2014and getting into trouble\u2014among the stars.&nbsp;\u201cI Am Groot,\u201d five original shorts featuring several new and unusual characters, stars everyone\u2019s favorite little tree, Baby Groot, voiced by Vin Diesel, who voices Groot in the \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D\u2019Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum and James Gunn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI Am Groot\u201d launches exclusively on Disney+ August 10, with all five shorts available for viewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"I Am Groot | Official Trailer | Disney+\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/D7eFpRf4tac?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cSPIDER-MAN: FRESHMAN YEAR\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jeff Trammell teased the show with the cast of characters, and Ryan Meinerding showed off the new Spider-Man suit designed for the series. A fun reveal was that moderator Paul F. Tompkins will be playing a character in the series. A second season was also announced, aptly titled \u201cSpider-Man: Sophomore Year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSpider-Man: Freshman Year\u201d isan animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we&#8217;ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character\u2019s early comic book roots. Executive producer Jeff Trammel serves as head writer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSpider-Man: Freshman Year\u201d comes exclusively to Disney+ in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cWHAT IF\u2026?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bryan Andrews and AC Bradley talked about the Emmy-nominated series and showed the trailer for Season Two. The audience went wild when, at the end of the presentation, a surprise screening of one episode of the highly anticipated next season was shown, and a third season was announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat If&#8230;?\u201d Season 2&nbsp;continues the journey with&nbsp;The Watcher as our guide through the vast multiverse, introducing brand new and familiar faces&nbsp;throughout the MCU. The animated series questions, revisits, and twists classic Marvel Cinematic&nbsp;moments with&nbsp;an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles. Directed by executive producer Bryan Andrews with executive producer AC Bradley as head writer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Season two of \u201cWhat If\u2026?\u201d launches exclusively on Disney+ in early 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cMARVEL ZOMBIES\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>Bryan Andrews offered background on the series and its origins spawning from an episode of \u201cWhat If\u2026?\u201d Season 1, as well as concept art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The animated series \u201cMarvel Zombies\u201d from Marvel Studios reimagines the Marvel Universe as a new generation of heroes battle against an ever-spreading zombie scourge. Directed by executive producer Bryan Andrews and written by executive producer Zeb Wells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMarvel Zombies\u201d will stream exclusively on Disney+.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cX-MEN \u201997<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cheers erupted when Brad Winderbaum spoke fondly of the legacy of \u201cX-Men: The Animated Series\u201d and presented a sizzle reel featuring cast and creatives from the popular \u201890s animated show. \u201cX-Men \u201897\u201d writer and executive producer Beau DeMayo then spoke about the new series, shared artwork, and presented an animatic AV piece. DeMayo also mentioned that the show will use the original \u201cX-Men\u201d theme music. A second season was also announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cX-MEN \u201997\u201d isan animated series from Marvel Studios that explores new stories in the iconic \u201990s timeline of the original series.
