SAARKIE<\/strong>, SA\u2019s favourite rock band, has dominated the local music industry for more than a decade, and this Women\u2019s Month they have even more reason to celebrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only are they allowed to resume live performances, but they also won big at the Afri-Indie Independent Artist Music Awards and just released a catchy new single and music video!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RONDOMTALIE<\/em><\/strong>, the first single from the upcoming sixth album, is an Afrikaans folk song about life\u2019s ups and downs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLife takes you on a serious of adventures. One day you meet someone, and it feels like you have known them for a lifetime. Like they have always been there, but the timing had to be right,\u201d<\/em> they share about the meaning behind the song written by Ad\u00e8le Fouch\u00e9, with co-writers Lila Botha and Christine du Plessis. \u201cAs time progresses, through the ups and downs of life, you realize that the person had actually always been there.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the group the single, recorded by High Seas Studios\u2019 Jacques du Plessis and mastered by Gustav van Rooyen, will appeal to a large audience because everyone has had good and bad experiences in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video, filmed by Kopwond Films<\/a> <\/em>in an old antique home, tells the story of a loving couple who moves into the house. The girls explain: \u201cThe house has many mysterious passages and doors that lead to new and exciting rooms, each with its own set of challenges. The garden is their sanctuary and the only place where they can relax and be carefree.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes the video even more special is the fact that it was shot at Lila Botha\u2019s Die Nagington Manor, and features the stars of the kykNET dating program, Op My Eish!<\/em> \u2013 Francois Jacobs and Shan\u00e9 Nykie Pretorius.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RONDOMTALIE<\/em><\/strong> follows in the footsteps of previous hits like Waar l\u00ea jou hart<\/em> (the titular track of their previous album), Re\u00ebnweer<\/em> and River Blues<\/em><\/a>, which were all well received and won several Afri-Indie Awards, including Best live rock band<\/em>, Best alternative album<\/em>, Best alternative single<\/em> and Best rock single<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although SAARKIE, consisting of Ad\u00e8le Fouch\u00e9 and Lila Botha, has mostly been an all-female group, they have recently started performing with bassist Angelo Roman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sixteen-year-old Pretorian and son of well-known musician Rixi Roman enjoys performing with the girls and is grateful for the opportunity to share the stage with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAngelo is a talented musician with a good heart and great personality. On stage, he is a rock star! He is our Big Daddy A,\u201d<\/em> says the girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to working on a new album and having a full calendar, they are also busy planning a tour to New Zealand and Australia. When they are not on stage, Lila manages her own business \u2013 Da Capo Trading \u2013 and Ad\u00e8le keeps herself busy with various art projects. They also enjoy relaxing at the coast or in the bush. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAARKIE is synonymous with the local rock scene and a song like RONDOMTALIE<\/em><\/strong> proves why. \u201cThe song is about love and making the most of each moment. South Africans love to sing and dance, and this song invites you to do just that,\u201d<\/em> they conclude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die musiekvideo, wat deur Kopwond Films<\/a> in \u2019n ou antieke huis verfilm is, vertel die storie van \u2019n verliefde paartjie wat saam daar intrek nadat hy haar op die rondomtalie in die parkie vir die eerste keer daarvan vertel. Die meisies verduidelik: \u201cDie huis is vol geheimsinnige gange en deure wat na nuwe vertrekke lei en nuwe uitdagings bied. In die tuin vind hulle \u2019n veilige hawe, waar hulle sorgvry kan wees soos toe hulle nog kinders was.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alhoewel SAARKIE, wat oorspronklik bestaan uit Ad\u00e8le Fouch\u00e9 en Lila Botha, hoofsaaklik nog altyd \u2019n meisiesgroep was, word hulle deesdae op die verhoog vergesel deur baskitaarspeler Angelo Roman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Di\u00e9 sestienjarige Pretorianer en seun van die bekende musikant Rixi Roman is nou al vir \u2019n jaar by die groep doenig en geniet elke oomblik daarvan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
