If you are lucky enough to meet the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, it calls for a celebration. And that is exactly what singer-songwriter, Christiaan Baartman<\/strong>, aims to achieve with his latest single.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIS JY<\/strong><\/em> is a folk pop song, written and produced by the artist himself, about the moment you realize that you have found true love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI recently fell in love with a special lady and the emotions I was experiencing inspired the song. Unfortunately, it did not work out, but the feelings still linger,\u201d<\/em> he shares. \u201cBeing in love is a gift that should be pursued and treasured for as long as possible.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming music video was created to capture the joy of being in love and features a band of well-known musicians playing on stage at a party, while the rest of the guests are dancing and having a good time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSometimes you just want to have fun with your friends and enjoy the music and that was the idea with this video,\u201d<\/em> he explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This catchy song is the singer\u2019s fourteenth release in three years and follows in the footsteps of chart toppers like As Hy Vir Jou Nog Lief Was<\/em> , Net \u2019n Bietjie<\/em> , Stof<\/em> <\/u>, \u2019n Vriend Soos Jy<\/em> (a duet with Mack Rapapali), My Vrou<\/em> and Die Beste Deel<\/em> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The singer-songwriter is currently working with Mack on his latest single, is helping out with a film project and is in talks with George Parker about a gospel album. In addition to his work in studio, he is also studying psychology and plans on releasing more music later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is also one of the contestants in the kykNET breakfast show, Ontbytsake<\/em> \u2019s songwriting competition and is excited to see what happens next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christiaan has been involved in the music industry for around two decades and released his first album in 2008 at the age of nineteen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, he has had many highlights in his career, including winning several music awards; producing a children\u2019s album with Leon Jonkman; progressing to the final rounds of Idols SA<\/em> in 2006; opening for Smokie in 2012; performing at Huisgenoot Skouspel in 2007 and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He enjoys being back on stage and feels privileged to be able to perform again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIS JY<\/strong><\/em> is a beautiful song that showcases his abilities as a musician, producer and songwriter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe song is different from the norm. It has an organic, fun and energetic approach, but no synthetic instruments were used to create it,\u201d<\/em> he concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
