{"id":1769,"date":"2015-12-14T22:48:44","date_gmt":"2015-12-14T20:48:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/?p=1769"},"modified":"2015-12-14T22:48:44","modified_gmt":"2015-12-14T20:48:44","slug":"305-feature-films-in-contention-for-2015-best-picture-oscar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/blog\/2015\/12\/14\/305-feature-films-in-contention-for-2015-best-picture-oscar\/","title":{"rendered":"305 Feature Films In Contention For 2015 Best Picture Oscar\u00ae"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three hundred five feature films are eligible for the 2015 Academy Awards<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today.<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for 88th Academy Awards consideration, feature films must open in a commercial motion picture theater in Los Angeles County by midnight, December 31, and begin a minimum run of seven consecutive days.<\/p>\n<p>Under Academy rules, a feature-length motion picture must have a running time of more than 40 minutes and must have been exhibited theatrically on 35mm or 70mm film, or in a qualifying digital format.<\/p>\n<p>Feature films that receive their first public exhibition or distribution in any manner other than as a theatrical motion picture release are not eligible for Academy Awards in any category.
