Ladybug Films is happy to announce the release of the sequel to the popular Judy Naidoo film, Kings of Mulberry Street.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

This family adventure-comedy\u00a0Kings of Mulberry Street: Let Love Reign<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>will be released on Netflix in April 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film is set in 1993, during the time of South Africa\u2019s first democratic elections, and tells the story of Baboo and Ticky four years later. Now 12 years old, the boys are firmly best friends and share an unbreakable bond.<\/p>\n\n\n

When\u00a0Granny Chetty (Ma) is kidnapped by the fallen and disgraced police Commander Veerasamy the boys are forced to play along with his schemes in-order to rescue Ma.<\/p>\n\n\n

Veerasamy demands the boys make amends for his downfall by repaying him for his loss of wealth and status, by pulling a heist on an upmarket, well-known casino where he is now employed as a security guard. But this is too big a feat for two little boys to accomplish on their own, it will take a daring plan and the efforts of the rambunctious Chetty\u2019s uniting with the respectable Singhs to save Ma.  What could go wrong?… Everything!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the film, Naidoo comments: \u201cLike the first Kings of Mulberry Street, <\/em>our story is akin to the matinee feature – an old-fashioned comedy misadventure made for the whole family. It is a nostalgic rollercoaster filled with thrills and spills starring two misfits whose trials and tribulations provide one bucketful of laughter and another, full of tears.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film features old familiar faces, including Shaan Nathoo who resumes his role as Baboo, introducing Liam Dunpath as Ticky and some new exciting characters that audiences can look forward to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cast includes Shaan Nathoo, Liam Dunpath, Hamish Kyd, Riyaad Nakooda, Kogie Naidoo, Amith Sing,  Kimberley Arthur, Mayuri Naidu, Luversan Gerard, Bertha le Roux-Wahl, Vaneshran Arumugan, Senzo Mthethwa, Nolan Jonathan, Jonathan Taylor and Kaseran Pillay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
