This has not only caused a stir in the industry but has also gained him many new fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, there is currently great excitement in music circles, as this talented musician has just released a brand-new single and highly anticipated album!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>HEILIG<\/em><\/strong>, the third single from his new album \u2013 <strong><em>VREEMDELING<\/em><\/strong>, which he co-wrote with Almero Welgemoed in 2018, is about how even though you often overlook the beauty within yourself, there is someone who notices it.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/JanBloukaas-udertree.jpeg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"450\" height=\"485\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/JanBloukaas-udertree.jpeg?resize=450%2C485&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18090\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/JanBloukaas-udertree.jpeg?w=450&amp;ssl=1 450w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/JanBloukaas-udertree.jpeg?resize=278%2C300&amp;ssl=1 278w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cBecause it is my mother\u2019s favourite, the song is very special to me,\u201d<\/em> he reveals about this beautiful acoustic track. <em>\u201cI think the song has a catchy melody and that people will love it because it contains spiritual elements, even though it was written to be a love song.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the music video, the contrast between light and dark was used to symbolize the meaning of the word \u201c<em>heilig<\/em> (holy)\u201d. Johan Vorster of Inhoud Huis Musiek directed the video, which was filmed in the east of Pretoria by Dani\u00ebl Rademeyer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWith this concept, we wanted to convey the message that everyone can choose what lights up their path in life,\u201d<\/em> he explains. <em>\u201cWith this song, I wanted to create something completely different from my previous video. I am very grateful for the opportunity to use it to show that I can also create music in other genres, and I hope it is well received by the public.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jan Bloukaas - Heilig\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CmVvrERenak?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The artist is also very excited to share his new album with listeners. It was created over a period of three years and deals with themes like relationships and self-discovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Bloukaas, he chose the title, <strong><em>VREEMDELING<\/em><\/strong>, because it best summarizes the theme of the album and because he realized that circumstances could alienate you from the people around you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He produced the album himself, with input from Peach van Pletzen and Ruan Graaff. Peach also did the final mixing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked about his favourite song, he says that it is impossible to choose because each one has special meaning for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cOn the day I was supposed to record my last five songs in the studio, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. However, I decided to finish the album before starting with treatment, and I am grateful that I was able to do so and film a music video.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jan Bloukaas, a.k.a. Jean du Plessis, barely finished school in 2017 when he shot to fame with the song <em>Kaas Elke Dag<\/em> and landed a deal with Universal Music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then he has had a very successful career, boasting several radio- and dance hits (including <em>kykNET en Chill<\/em>, <em>Boerseun<\/em> and <em>Desember<\/em>), two popular albums (<em>Desember<\/em> and <em>The Party Starter<\/em>), a record deal with Inhoud Huis Musiek and numerous awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Capetonian also collaborated with Biggy and Early B on the song <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nFvpSQ1tdMs\"><em>Dans<\/em><\/a> and released a duet, <em>Sterre Brand<\/em>, with Janie Bay. Additionally, he has also shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry and performed at several major music festivals and concerts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and is determined to remain positive.
