A modern take on David Cronenberg\u2019s 1988 classic film,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.samdb.co.za\/title\/2413\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dead Ringers<\/a><\/em>\u00a0is a limited series starring Rachel Weisz playing the double-lead role of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twins who share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes\u2014including pushing the boundaries on medical ethics\u2014in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women\u2019s health care to the forefront. All six episodes premiere April 21 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rachel Weisz also serves as an executive producer for the limited series, which is created, written, and executive produced by Emmy-nominated writer and playwright Alice Birch (<em>Normal People<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Succession<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>The Wonder<\/em>).&nbsp;The series\u2019 ensemble cast includes Britne Oldford (<em>The Umbrella Academy<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>American Horror Story: Asylum<\/em>) as Genevieve, Poppy Liu (<em>Hacks<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Better Call Saul<\/em>) as Greta, Michael Chernus (<em>Severance<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Orange Is the New Black<\/em>) as Tom, Jennifer Ehle (<em>Zero Dark Thirty<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Saint Maud<\/em>) as Rebecca, and Emily Meade (<em>The Deuce<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>The Leftovers<\/em>) as Susan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Dead Ringers - trailer\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mBXYFyfCHO8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Filmmaker Sean Durkin (<em>Martha Marcy May Marlene<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>The Nest<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>The Iron Claw<\/em>) directed the first two episodes and co-directed the last episode of the series. Durkin also serves as an executive producer. The directing team also includes Karyn Kusama (<em>Jennifer\u2019s Body<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Girlfight<\/em>), Karena Evans (<em>P-Valley<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Snowfall<\/em>), and Lauren Wolkstein (<em>A Friend of the Family<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Y: The Last Man<\/em>).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dead Ringers<\/em>&nbsp;is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Annapurna Television. Alice Birch, who is the series showrunner, serves as an executive producer alongside Rachel Weisz for Astral Projection, Stacy O\u2019Neil, Sue Naegle, and Sean Durkin. Ali Krug is the executive producer for Annapurna Television. Erica Kay, Anne Carey, and Polly Stokes also serve as executive producers. James G.
