{"id":20091,"date":"2023-10-11T21:31:07","date_gmt":"2023-10-11T19:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/?p=20091"},"modified":"2023-10-11T21:31:11","modified_gmt":"2023-10-11T19:31:11","slug":"music-educator-award-semi-finalists-announced-by-the-recording-academy-and-grammy-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.samdb.co.za\/blogs\/blog\/2023\/10\/11\/music-educator-award-semi-finalists-announced-by-the-recording-academy-and-grammy-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"Music Educator Award Semi-finalists Announced By The Recording Academy And Grammy Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>WHO:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/><strong>A total of 25 music teachers, from 25 cities across 17 states,<\/strong>\u00a0have been announced as <strong>semifinalists for the Music Educator Award&#x2122; presented by the Recording Academy<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0and GRAMMY Museum<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0In total,\u00a0<strong>more than 2,000 initial nominations<\/strong>\u00a0were\u00a0<strong>submitted from 50 states<\/strong>. <strong>Nominations for the 2025 Music Educator Award are now open at <\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/grammymuseum.org\/education\/music-educator-award\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/grammymuseum.org\/education\/music-educator-award\/\" target=\"_blank\">grammymusicteacher.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHAT:<\/strong><br \/>The\u00a0<strong>Music Educator Award\u00a0<\/strong>recognizes current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the music education field and demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools. The recipient will be recognized during GRAMMY<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0Week 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award is open to current U.S. music teachers, and anyone can nominate a teacher \u2014 students, parents, friends, colleagues, community members, school deans, and administrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teachers are also able to nominate themselves, and nominated teachers are notified and invited to fill out an application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each year, one recipient is selected from 10 finalists and recognized for their remarkable impact on students&#8217; lives. They will receive a $10,000 honorarium and matching grant for their school&#8217;s music program. The nine additional finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium and matching grants. The remaining 15 semifinalists will receive a $500 honorarium with matching school grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Music Educator Award program, including honorariums, is made possible by the generosity and support of\u00a0<strong>The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation<\/strong>.\u00a0In addition, the American Choral Directors Association, National Association for Music Education, NAMM Foundation, and National Education Association support this program through outreach to their constituencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>finalists<\/strong>\u00a0will be announced in\u00a0<strong>December<\/strong>.
