Coming through with his first release of the year, Eswatini artist Amarii<\/a> pours his heart out on his 2-Track single titled \u201cstate of the heart\u201d. Fresh off the release of his well-received LP, \u201cFrom Bremersdorp With Love<\/a>\u201d in December 2023, he gives us this love-focused two track single.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the opening track, he draws inspiration from Rihanna\u2019s 2007 hit for the chorus and title of his high-energy, drill-inspired song \u201cUmbrella\u201d. He pairs his melodies and catchy lyrics on the hook and chorus with bouncy melodic raps and flows on the verse. It is honestly safe to say this record is more than perfect for sing-alongs on every occasion, whether you\u2019re in the shower, in the car or in the club!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo be honest,I came up with this song in one session. Most of the time that’s how I come up with the catchiest songs because I don\u2019t really think about it too much,\u201d Amarii explains. \u201cWith umbrella, I really just punched it in line by line. I had made the beat as an experiment just to see if I could make some good drill music out of a guitar sample. As soon as I had the whole arrangement done, I literally mumbled a bunch of melodies and just put words to all the melodies I liked,\u201d He adds.<\/p>\n\n\n

Amarii follows up with a mellow rap record titled \u201cthis thing of ours<\/a>\u201d. Here, he breaks down all the tell-tale signs that make him believe that he and his lover share something very special, something he can confidently call love. He shares his thoughts and feelings carefully as he raps steadily with consistency and confidence, almost as if he wants to ensure that nobody misses any part of his story. \u201cI really just wanted to write a song about something I was living in. I always speak about past relationships in my music and this time I thought I should tap into my current situation. Sometimes I challenge myself by giving myself a subject and just making a song based on one idea and this was one of those times. I really enjoyed working on this one. I can only hope that people feel the same way I feel about it!\u201d he emphasises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this point, it is worth mentioning that the muso teamed up with Silverspoon Pictures Director Flex and Luda Films Productions to give life to this sentimental record through a music video. The video is set in a coffee shop where Amarii is writing a letter to his lover in the midst of other customers going through the ups and downs of valentine\u2019s day. As he writes and contemplates on his next words to his lover, there is a nearby couple having an awkward first date, a woman on a lonely solo date and a man getting stood up. One would not even imagine or believe the plot twist in this story. You would just have to see the full video for yourself on his YouTube channel!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve surpassed numbers I\u2019ve personally, never really seen in my career and I can\u2019t thank the dreamers enough! More than 2500 listeners on Spotify off this one release is insane to me, I can\u2019t wait to soar even higher.
