Emmy-nominated actor and SAMA-nominated musician, Neil Sandilands, has just confirmed that he and his band (Schalk Joubert, Frank Freeman and Ronan Skillen<\/strong>) will once again embark on a nationwide tour this winter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLast year\u2019s epic adventure during July, when we toured from the Cape to Limpopo, performing to audiences that were often in the outskirts of the country, was one of the most enriching experiences of my career,\u201d says Sandilands, veteran actor known for international television series like Sweet Tooth<\/em><\/strong>, The Flash<\/em><\/strong>, The 100<\/em><\/strong>, as well as local series Die Groot Niks<\/em><\/strong>, Desert Rose<\/em><\/strong> and 7de Laan<\/em>, <\/strong>to name but a few. \u201cYup, 35 years of doing it and counting\u201d he laughs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time, the ensemble will take on an even more gruelling schedule, touring for literally 40 days & 40 nights<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt might be a record of a different kind, I think. I love this country and its people and am very optimistic about experiences encountered whilst on the road. We get things done ourselves, and it\u2019s a privilege to be able to create work in this \u2018soetste taal\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The musical offerings will come from Sandilands\u2019 well-known albums Sangoma Sandilands <\/em><\/strong>& Jou Pa se Posse<\/strong><\/em>, Allegaarkie vir \u2019n Askeet<\/em><\/strong>, Die Groot 5<\/em><\/strong>, Die Groot Niks<\/em><\/strong>, as well as new works, never previously recorded. \u201cIt\u2019ll be the first time that I\u2019ll be singing brand-new songs \u201clive\u201d, before the release of an album. It\u2019s very exciting!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandilands will also star as Koro<\/strong> in Disney\u2019s latest cinematic instalment of the Planet of the Apes<\/em>-franchise: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes<\/em><\/strong>, which will be released worldwide on 10 May 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
