The Emmy-winning first season was named Best TV Series &#8211; Drama at the 2023 Golden Globes and Best TV Series at <em>Rotten Tomatoes<\/em>\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Golden Tomato Awards for the best-reviewed show of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on George RR Martin\u2019s <em>Fire &amp; Blood<\/em>, <em>House of the Dragon<\/em> is set 200 years before the events of <em>Game of Thrones<\/em> and tells the story of House Targaryen. The show\u2019s live-action cast includes Oscar nominee Stockard Channing (<em>Grease<\/em>\u2019s Rizzo), Edi Patterson (from <em>Knives Out <\/em>and <em>The Righteous Gemstones<\/em>) and Cary Elwes (Westley in <em>The Princess Bride<\/em>).
