Showmax has released a first-look at the cast of Born Into Fame<\/em>, a Showmax Original reality show screening on Tuesdays from 18 June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n

An inside look at growing up famous, Born Into Fame<\/em> is produced by GOAT Productions, the creative minds behind Unfollowed<\/em>, one of the 10 most-streamed South African shows on Showmax in 2023; last year\u2019s South African Film and Television Award winner Life With Kelly Khumalo S3<\/em>; and The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip – South Africa<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born Into Fame <\/em>follows six South Africans with famous parents, as they try to live up to their family legacies while discovering their own unique paths to success. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AJ Mafokate<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

AJ is the son of Arthur Mafokate and he has ambitions of taking over his father\u2019s record label 999. He is also a DJ and has ambitions of making\u00a0a name for himself as one of the country’s best DJs\/producers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owami Mafokate<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As the daughter of Arthur Mafokate, the king of kwaito, and Queen from Aba Shante, Owami Mafokate\u00a0is no stranger to the spotlight. She is a DJ with over a million followers on TikTok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phila Madlingozi<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Phila Madlingozi is the son of Ringo Madlingozi, who won a South African Music Award for Male Artist of The Year and is a member of the National Assembly of South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raised by his gran, Phila doesn’t have the best relationship with his father. After appearing on Idols <\/em>and then the multi-award-winning TV series Intersexions<\/em> in 2013, he\u2019s made a name for himself outside of his father\u2019s shadow as both an actor and a singer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robbie Malinga Jr<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Robbie Malinga Jr, also known as Rob Mally, is the son of the late Metro FM Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award winner Robbie Malinga. The rapper is famous for his social media presence and flamboyant lifestyle, earning a Drama Queen of the Year nomination at the Feather Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shamiso Mosaka<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Shamiso Mosaka is the first-born daughter of radio legend and businesswoman Azania Mosaka. Recently announced as a radio host on YFM, Shamiso is a rising star known for VJing on MTV Base Africa and co-hosting MTV Africa\u2019s Ghosted AF: Love Gone Missing<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tank The Rock Star<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Tank The Rock Star is the son of DJ Tira, the gqom pioneer and record label boss. At 25, “Junior” is already making a name for himself in the music industry as a trap rapper. He\u2019s also an aspiring producer and actor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
