African storytellers, filmmakers, and fashion enthusiasts have just over a week left to submit their applications for two exciting FAME Week Africa\u00a0opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FAME Week Africa is a leading film, fashion, music and animation event happening in Cape Town from 1-7 September. The gathering offers incredible opportunities to showcase products and ideas and connect with industry leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two exciting opportunities are near to their closing date:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MIP Africa Project Pitch Platform<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Filmmakers and creators are called to pitch their film, TV or digital content project directly to decision-makers who can help secure funding and distribution deals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open to projects in various stages of development, from early ideas to active production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apply by June 28th via the Fame Week website: www.fameweekafrica.com\/mip-africa\/en-gb\/Pitches.html.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pitch Forum will take place from 2-4 September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inclusive Lens Awards<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As we celebrate PRIDE month \u2013 a month of diversity, love, and inclusion \u2013 FAME Week Africa is calling for entries for a new awards set to recognise inclusivity in film and television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A call for entries is out for films that tell stories from Africa, or its diaspora, that focus on LGBTQ+ representation, disability awareness, or diverse themes in children’s content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Categories include Best LGBTQ+ Representation, Best Disability Representation, and Best Diversity and Inclusion Representation for Young Audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deadline for submissions is June 25th. All submissions can be made on the Fame Week website: www.fameweekafrica.com\/mip-africa\/en-gb\/inclusive-lens-awards.html\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urban Brew Studios has partnered with FAME Week Africa to bring the Inclusive Lens Awards to life, honouring the storytellers who elevate underrepresented voices and showcase the rich tapestry of human experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Awards event will take place on 3 September 2024, hosted by a favourite figure in Cape Town’s drag scene, Vida Fantabisher. As a lecturer at AFDA, Vida inspires future creatives with her expertise in Character Design & Styling. Her charisma and dedication make her a beloved icon in both drag and academia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The keynote at the Awards is Zoey Black; a queer transgender woman of colour who excels as a documentary filmmaker, film photographer, and human rights activist.
